Create an interactive quiz to generate leads, learn about your audience, and drive more traffic

So, you’ve done your marketing homework—you launched your newsletter, wrote the blogs, took the umpteenth email marketing course…

And now, you launched your first quiz—congrats!

Creating and launching a quiz is a great way to gain followers, turn those followers into leads, and boost sales by attracting your perfect-fit audience.

It’s also an excellent way to gain valuable market research while segmenting your list to refine your services.

Oh, side note: Just when you think you can’t get any more excited about quizzes, there’s more! A quiz can help you collect zero- and first-party data (which means your audience *chooses* to give you data—talk about trust building!)

While it can be super exciting to launch that first quiz, the reality is that launching it is only half the battle. Effectively promoting your quiz is where you will see the most success—and I’m here to help you do just that!

What’s the point of having an amazingly compelling quiz if no one is going to see it?!

Maybe you’ve been wondering if Facebook is the right path for you, or if you should take a stab at rocking TikTok trends.

Whatever the case, this article will show you how to put your quiz in the limelight by promoting it on social media.

Why social media?

Social media has quickly become one of the most used digital marketing tools out there—with the average American spending an average of 2.25 hours on these platforms every single day. And while, of course, there’s more to marketing than just social media, it’s a great place to gain traction for your quiz.

So what makes social media such a powerful place to begin?

For starters, it allows you to meet your audience wherever they are. With so many different platforms stretching across different demographics and industries, you’ll likely find the right people to engage with.

Through the power of social media, you’ll be able to gain and nurture leads, increase brand awareness, and implement social listening to refine your business to meet the needs of your audience.

And even though social media platforms seem to be changing their algorithms as quickly as their AI creates them, we know that social media isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Which is why we highly suggest jumping on board and nurturing your community so that you can drive that traffic straight to your quiz.

Here’s how…

The Supreme 6: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Pinterest

Diving into the world of social media can feel a tad overwhelming, so I’ll break it down.

I’ll focus on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and the ever-trending world of TikTok. Although there are other social platforms worth checking out to promote your quiz, you’ll want to start here!

Facebook

AKA, the reigning king of the social media world.

Facebook is the most used social platform in the world, meaning you really can’t sleep on this one. With approximately 2 billion active users daily, you and your business need to be here.

The beauty of Facebook is that you can market through a business page, through a private community organically, or with the help of paid Facebook ads. Facebook is also the perfect place to build community and connect with like-minded folks by creating a group. Promoting your quiz on Facebook is a fantastic way to turn your audience into qualified leads.

So, who’s on Facebook? Almost everyone uses it, but Boomers and Gen Xers use it more than most! If this is who your primary audience is, you’ll definitely want to promote your business here.

Twitter

Think of Twitter as a giant, unfiltered news outlet.

Twitter is the space for political discussion, fast-moving information, and authentic conversations.

What makes Twitter so unique is that it is the only platform where you can have a totally loose conversation with a stranger, celebrity, or co-worker on an even playing field.

Because of the high-level engagement, Twitter is an ideal space for digital marketing. It’s a great place to share your quiz for maximum exposure and to start a conversation with your audience.

So, who’s on Twitter? Twitter is the hot spot for political and business topics. If this sounds like your quiz, tweet away!

Hardly Tech Quiz

TikTok

You can get as creative as you want on TikTok, showcasing your business or brand in a unique and engaging way.

If you can get on top of trends and stay consistent on this platform, you can gain some serious traction by promoting your quiz.

TikTok is still considered to be in an early-adopter stage, which means there’s room to go viral organically.

So, who’s on TikTok? This platform has become a go-to for content creators, Gen Zers, and just about everyone else as it continues gaining momentum in the social world.

Here is a great example of how to effectively promote your quiz on TikTok.

Instagram

While its original intention was for sharing pictures, Instagram has evolved into one of the top social media platforms in the game.

Instagram is a great place to share meaningful content, sell products, and engage with other like-minded communities.

The primary advantage of this social platform? The visuals—which definitely helps since the modern attention span is notoriously short!

If you can create some killer visuals to grab your audience’s attention (and we’ve got you covered with copy and graphics templates in our online → free to subscribers ← community!), you can easily get your quiz out there. This is an excellent place to be if you’re looking to turn those followers into qualified leads for your business.

So, who’s on Instagram? This visually minded app attracts mostly Gen Xers and Millennials (but let’s be honest, people of all ages are hanging out here).

LinkedIn

This social platform acts as both an online networking space and a professional hub.

People use this app to showcase their unique skills, work experience, and professional stories, as well as to outreach to potential clients.

So, who’s on LinkedIn? Pretty much everyone. But since it’s primarily used for workplaces and to make career connections, it’s a great space to share quizzes related to management, recruiting, and beyond.

Pinterest

You can think of this platform as one big social media storybook.

Pinterest allows people to showcase visual content in a compelling, inspiring, and entertaining way. A lot of folks think that Pinterest is primarily used for pinning vision boards for dream houses, but the truth is, there’s a lot more to it!

You can use this platform to capture new audiences, build community, and educate leads about your quiz.

Who’s hanging out on Pinterest? The primary demographic here is women, Gen Zers, and those looking to shop. Got an e-commerce business that sells women’s perfume? Go here!

On which platform should I promote my quiz?

Now that you have a general understanding of each platform, it’s time to figure out on which one to promote your quiz! While it’s always a good idea to spread out across ALL platforms, some will work better than others, depending on your business.

The first thing you should do is assess your current needs.

Here are some questions worth asking yourself before deciding where to promote your quiz:

  • Who is my target audience? Am I looking to connect with young professionals in the working world? Or folks over 50 looking for their ideal travel guidebook? Get clear on who your people are first, and then you’ll naturally move toward the right platform. For example: If you thrive in the creative world and your people hang out on IG, start there!
  • Do I already have a following? You know your business best. Assess where your existing following hangs out and capitalize on that low-hanging fruit.
  • What is my primary marketing goal? Am I starting from nothing and looking to attract leads quickly? Or am I looking to establish authority in my business?

Answering these questions will empower you to decide which road to take. For example, if you have a smaller, targeted audience and want to boost engagement quickly, promoting on Facebook with Facebook ads could be your avenue.

Check out this ridiculously detailed and actionable bonus from our quiz course for more information.

Another example: You know that Instagram and TikTok are stomping grounds for young creatives, so you know they’re the perfect places for your “Whats your creative superpower?” quiz! If your quiz focuses on management styles or workplace personality types, Linkedin will likely be the best option.

Still not sure? Refer back to The Supreme 6 section to see where your audience may be hanging out.

How to share and embed your quiz on your chosen platform

Now that you’ve decided where to promote your quiz, make sure it can be shared! Before you launch into the social media world, you need to embed your quiz onto your website.

Embedding your quiz is easy to do—simply head to your Interact dashboard, click “Edit,” and choose “Share & Embed.”

We HIGHLY recommend embedding your quiz onto your website as its primary “home.” This way, when people click to take your quiz, they head straight to your website. Win-win!

For more information on how to share and embed your quiz, refer to Part 5 of our in-depth course

After successfully embedding your quiz onto your website, sharing it on your preferred platform will be smooth sailing.

Once you’re ready to share, customize and edit accordingly, based on whatever platform you’re on.

For example: You can copy and paste your link into Facebook, and then change your image and write a caption about your quiz. Check out the following article for more information: How To Promote Your Quiz On Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.

Hot tips to maximize your quiz exposure

Now that you know the power of social media and which platforms to invest in, you’ve decided where to promote your quiz, and you’ve embedded it onto your website, let’s run through some hot tips to get your quiz the maximum exposure it deserves!

Below are just a few ways you can boost your quiz’s visibility across multiple platforms.

“Link in bio” apps

Promoting your quiz through Instagram? Make sure that in addition to those beautiful captions you’re creating, you also keep a living link in your bio so your audience can access it at any time.

Facebook ads

We’ve said it once, we’ll say it again—if you’ve got the budget, go for Facebook ads!

This type of advertising sets your target audience based on interests and behaviors, so it ensures your quiz ads reach the right people at all times.

Get creative with your captions

Remember, when posting on social, it’s your time to shine! Get creative with your copy. Make your words work hard, and be original and authentic with your messaging. Platforms such as Twitter only allow short captions, so the more you can say with less, the better!

Don’t forget about those stories

Using Facebook and Instagram stories is an excellent way to give your quiz some extra visibility and further engage with your audience.

Plus, you can post fun features there, like teaser questions or polls, and give your viewers that instant gratification they love.

Don’t forget to encourage your audience to share their quiz results in their stories and on their feeds, too. More engagement for the win!

Keep it regular

Posting your quiz is one thing, but to turn those followers into qualified leads, you need to keep up with regular posting.

It’s not enough for your quiz to live on your Linktree or to post an Instagram post on launch day—make sure that sharing your quiz is a top priority, so you can turn your followers into qualified leads!

Use clear Calls to Action

Be direct! Do your best to call attention to the transformation your quiz promises your ideal clients and customers.

Ask them to take the quiz and post a comment about which result they got and how well it resonates. You can also ask them to tag you when they post their quiz results in their stories or on their pages, so you can reshare and repost and work that algorithm to create engagement!
