Make Trivia Quizzes from Articles With ChatGPT [Exact Prompts]

New: Make Trivia Quizzes in 1-click with InteractAI: Try it Free!

I made a trivia quiz using ChatGPT, specifically OpenAI Playground, from this Wikipedia article on healthy diet. Here is the finished product, all of the text in this quiz was generated from prompts to the AI, I did not edit the text at all.

Watch how to make trivia quizzes from article/blog with ChatGPT

Part 1: Prompt ChatGPT to Summarize the blog post

If your article or blog post is more than 500 words, it can be too long of a prompt so you need to condense it down using the following prompt so it will fit.

OpenaAI (ChatGPT) Prompt

Read this article and summarize it to 500 words.

Part 2: Write the trivia quiz with ChatGPT

Once you have your article condensed down [Title + Body – any ads or content that doesn’t match the piece] you can run the following prompt in OpenAI playground to generate your trivia/knowledge test text.

Important settings.

  1. Set temperature to .49
  2. Set length to 1,500 – 1,800

OpenAI (ChatGPT) Prompt:

Copy/paste this entire prompt into OpenAI playground (make sure you swap out the part that is the article/blog post)

Read this article and create a knowledge test formatted like the example quiz format below.

Healthy diet

In this part of the prompt you paste in your article/blog post, or the condensed version.

United States Department of Agriculture food pyramid (click to enlarge) A healthy diet or balanced diet is a diet (what you eat) that contains the right amounts of all the food groups. It includes fruit, vegetables, grains, dairy products, and protein. It does not include too much or too little of any kind of food.[1] Eating wrong amounts of a food group, whether it be too much or too little, is called an ‘unhealthy diet’ or an ‘imbalanced diet’. A healthy diet is one that includes more foods that come from plants and fewer convenience foods.[2] Basic nutrition What is known about nutrition and diet keeps changing as more is learned.[3] However, basic nutrition remains much the same.[3] The best advice is to talk to a doctor or dietitian for personalized information based on an individual’s lifestyle, health, and food likes and dislikes.[3] Basic nutrition begins with a diet based on the major food groups that includes vegetables, whole grains, and dairy products.[3] It should also have lean protein such as beans, legumes, nuts and seeds plus healthy fats.[3] A basic nutrition plan should include guidelines for how much food from each group to eat.[3] Foods should be those that can be found in local grocery stores instead of specialty and gourmet food stores.[3] A basic food plan should be based on an individual’s budget, lifestyle and (healthy) preferences.[3] Drink plenty of water.[4] Drink fewer Soft drinks, energy drinks and sports drinks which usually have sugar.[4] Read the food labels to see what is in the foods.[4] For example, labels usually show what foods are lower in sodium such as in soup, bread, and frozen meals.[4] A healthy diet should include seafoods (such as salmon, tuna, and trout) and shellfish (such as crab, mussels, and oysters). Seafood has protein, minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids which are heart-healthy.[4] Basic nutrition should contain balanced amounts of macronutrients for energy.[5] Carbohydrates are one of the three macro-nutrients in the human diet (fat and protein are the other two).[5] A healthy diet can replace dieting for weight loss.[6] Eating healthy, along with physical exercise and practicing moderation, can lead to better health in the long run.[6]

Part 3: Make your trivia quiz interactive + generate leads

ChatGPT (OpenAI Playground) only outputs text, but if you want your quiz to be interactive like the one I featured at the top of this post, you need a software program to make the quiz and host it.

Copy and paste content from OpenAI Playground (ChatGPT) to Interact Quiz Maker

At this time InteractAI is not yet connected to make this process automatic, so you can copy and paste the output from the playground into Interact Quiz Maker to make it interactive.

Proofread for factual correctness

AI can make factual errors, and even though ChatGPT is somewhat based on a long-term Stanford research study on question answering using AI, it can still get things wrong. So check for accuracy before publishing.

Rewrite as needed – write in the way you talk

To make your quiz still unique to you, and not just sound generic, you can replace any of the questions or outcomes

Customizing colors and branding on your trivia quiz

There are only four basic elements that are ideal to customize.

All are easy to edit.

  • Background Color: Same as your website
  • Button Color: Same as call to action buttons on your website
  • Choose your font: We integrate with google fonts and have classic fonts
  • Logo: On Growth or pro accounts you can add your own logo

Adding images to your Trivia quiz

Most engaging format: Cycle through the three following image formats.

  1. Image question, text answers
  2. Text question, image answers
  3. Text question, text answers

Interact is automatically integrated with Unsplash, so all you have to do is search for an image and add images to your quiz

Get leads with your AI-Made Trivia quizzes

Quizzes have an average conversion rate of 40.8% meaning 4 out of 10 people who reach the end of a quiz will opt in on average even if that opt in is optional.

Why? Because they’re fully paying attention, and interested in what you have to offer because they just spent a few minutes taking your quiz.

Highest converting opt-in text: There is no secret here, just speak as a human and offer up something valuable that is in context to the quiz. Keep the opt-in text within the following parameters.

  1. Opt-in copy headline: 10 words or less, tell the person why they would want to opt in
  2. Opt-in copy sub headline: 15 words or less, tell the person how you will communicate with them and how that is valuable to them
  3. Always use GDPR compliance with consent. It’s best practice and you will avoid getting leads who are not really interested and will unsubscribe anyways.
