As a visual branding designer who wanted to sell a DIY-friendly design course, I wanted to give my quiz-takers mind-blowing value from the very beginning until the very end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My first step was to put everything into a Google Doc so I could organize my thoughts and ideas. There are a ton of benefits and possible goals when you\u2019re building a quiz as a course creator, but when I decided to create my own, I focused on five, in this exact order:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Generate leads on autopilot to grow my list&nbsp;<\/li><li>Build trust by sharing my teaching style and personality<\/li><li>Educate my leads before I sell <a href=\"https:\/\/sibilaribeiro.com\/waitlist-rock-your-website\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">my signature course<\/a><\/li><li>Segment and position my email list for current and future offers<\/li><li>Make it unforgettable<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve these goals, I made a few decisions early on.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To generate leads on autopilot, I needed to embrace Pinterest and ads. Most of my audience organically comes from Pinterest, so it made sense to focus there.&nbsp;<\/li><li>To share my teaching style (and build trust), I needed to use my voice and personality as well as create a kick-ass email sequence.<\/li><li>To educate my leads, I needed to use storytelling in my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tryinteract.com\/blog\/50-quiz-questions-you-should-be-using\/\">questions and answers<\/a>.<\/li><li>To segment and position my list, I needed to add a few extra questions that weren\u2019t related to the results. This would give me powerful data to use later.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the goals and features were set, it was easy to search for and settle on Interact. We want to participate and know what\u2019s going to happen next. Just like in a conversation, we don\u2019t just ask stand-alone questions. We usually react to or base our next question on the response we got form the last one\u2014kinda like an \u201cif\/then\u201d dialogue. How did you bring together such unique topics?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>My goal was for quiz-takers to get emotionally involved with the questions and navigate through them easily. The first thing I did before creating the questions was define the results. Once I was clear on my quiz results, I started creating the questions. I knew who was going to take the quiz and I got into their shoes. I was able to shave off one more question from my initially 15-question quiz, but taking out any other question was close to impossible for me. It was like asking me to remove an arm!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I remember spending two days trying to re-work it by pulling one or two more questions out and it kept \u201cbreaking.\u201d So, on the third day, I shook the \u201cfreak-out feeling\u201d and decided to move forward with 14 questions. Make note of what you like, what you don\u2019t like, what inspires you, and what repels you. Make note of how the quiz results made you feel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Define the results you want to offer<\/strong> and the people you want to attract. Give them a five-star result. Be specific, positive, and fun. The results are seen as \u201cthe end\u201d of an experience, so make it a memorable one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Don\u2019t skimp on the visuals<\/strong>. Put in the time to find high-quality images that relate to your content, especially for the answer options. Be intentional with the images you use.
