In this post, I\u2019ll show you how to use Lumen5 AI to turn an existing blog post into video content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ve already done the work to write your blog posts\u2014why not put in a little effort to get even more mileage out of them? I chose the free \u201cCommunity\u201d plan to get started, and I didn\u2019t have to input my credit card information. However, if you want to customize your video, I recommend choosing the paid \u201cStarter\u201d plan, which will allow you to match the colors and other style elements to your brand.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/4EoJCs0p6fSj7_lQAnX4AZNyo-4HsBzI5cX8W4RUFco98s8J3sdG1GBEeZiLOkLfUC65CiAaOMDPCQOrI6nfMJHETaATAtO0DgGRCc2a_dzX1e7eCP9YNZ_D3U1heNrKs-610t4tOpyhucJvO0GlCT4\" alt=\"Screenshot of Lumen5 AI pricing\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you have a Lumen5 account, go ahead and choose \u201cCreate videos for a specific project.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/NtsaArkmClH9uL7VVUnvgtN4G6cseAhur0bGU5DKg1RdLxYotfriLLx2seXcGAHMHIHJkBeW1I-1C0m8Sm0oUdMrMoxzj5WH6nBPPc-qnA1ewQaMgt5d04P4VV1meFsmmrUv6Q8qsRaTBpkbH07zWlo\" alt=\"Screenshot of plan options to create an account with Lumen5 AI\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, you\u2019ll be asked to select a template, but you can skip this step. Let\u2019s see what we can come up with on our own!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now you should be in the Lumen5 AI workspace, ready to get building.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the top left-hand side of the screen, there\u2019s a bar directing you to \u201cPaste a URL to your blog\/article.\u201d Go ahead and paste your blog post URL in that bar and click \u201cImport.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After your blog post imports, you\u2019ll see the content on the left-hand side of the screen. Scroll down to make sure everything looks A-OK, and then click \u201cConvert to Video\u201d at the bottom of the screen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s see what we get when we use Lumen5 AI to turn blog posts into videos!&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh4.googleusercontent.com\/__T79pL3eVytR47Nt_2WnK5sAj6JmZTD4xoCFD4LNjrcEW27f-1gSior62aaR__WxbwLeUC2Yp3hKCfmdVKEs0uF57no7Mfl2R9tPgRUuJkkXMo5DHZdkPbpogswdBG8gqKu7hkI6rqU5yoKKQGuk_8\" alt=\"Screenshot of convert to video page in Lumen5 AI\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-add-your-own-branding\">Add Your Own Branding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The program will take a few minutes to fully convert your blog content. As the program is working, you\u2019ll see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tryinteract.com\/blog\/abcs-of-turning-your-knowledge-into-content\/\">your blog content<\/a> being repurposed as a series of slides. Now is a good time to scroll through and start jotting down some notes to save time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I can already tell I want to swap out the introduction design in my example. As it is, it\u2019s just a lot of text from the blog\u2014it\u2019s hard to read and doesn\u2019t make all that much sense in this format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/e85MOtegNjEZNfxbSz1cC5ru0cyN9MMZXMT0K_fHBHStWW_B6Y5oGmtaNZe7TfwFqtN4APWH1igf1aelm97Pk95RhBVbiUDyxw_35Y6bEhYIXQiN42Ei3c9qESBFkeekq1ZS4S-5BZbeyTZ_l9lzYvc\" alt=\"Screenshot of previewing text created in Lumen5 AI\n\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On to the first step of the design process, hover over the first slide you\u2019d like to edit. You will see a menu will pop up on the right; click \u201cSwap design.\u201d Then scroll through the options and choose one that matches your content and brand. For my video, I\u2019m choosing from the \u201cCollage\u201d section.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the same design menu as \u201cSwap design,\u201d you\u2019ll also see an option to \u201cShuffle colors.\u201d Play around with the colors of the text and graphics until you\u2019re happy with the result and try matching the colors to your brand colors! In the vertical bar to the left of the slide, click \u201cStyle,\u201d and a small library of colors will pop up.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/S38WGZXVfIGs3zbqwhmOpyqsAmMfg7j5ZVGq-ATZA9yS2FGeH5rZEeb9ut75ukF7eWXNRYlSXrBY7k12gKCEhKBesMc9el5TNZBVdbql5LvgtkGnMmDJJ8Q5FZ9TCgHHKd0SrfQhwzTumX6U-VdB8Ts\" alt=\"Screenshot of ability to add branding and colors to Lumen5 AI\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>At this point in the process, I bet you can see why I think going with a paid plan is totally worth it. Sure, you could stick to the basic design elements for your video, but editing the slides to match your brand colors, fonts, and overall design to represent your business is definitely something I recommend. For most of these customizations, you\u2019ll need to upgrade to the \u201cStarter\u201d plan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continue to go through your slides and swap out the design however you\u2019d like.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, in the vertical menu on the left-hand side of the page, you should see an item called \u201cMedia.\u201d This is where you\u2019ll edit or drop in relevant images to accompany and enhance your video and break up the text.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For my video, I want to replace the text in a circle graphic with a person. So, I typed \u201chappy person\u201d in the \u201cMedia\u201d search bar and found a great image to drag and drop onto a slide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/J3lMlbOeaRTfFwfmbXwHlNlEwLooZVF-gwv0yuaHChIaRlP8VQvzpun5Dwg_f9uKAafO1E5YuAL_YcITZtyIq736YFJN0Xywy5AhbzWb4SLzgjtypH22bckSAfljM2kpKoRiBVbmKYFedb3p73Xogl8\" alt=\"Screenshot of final edits to project in Lumen5 AI\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Another thing to consider is how long each slide in the video is displayed. You can decrease or increase screen time in the right-hand vertical toolbar. For slides with more text or important information, you should display them longer, maybe 5+ seconds. And you can decrease the screen time for less critical slides to 3 or 4 seconds.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-preview-your-project-in-lumen5-ai\">Preview your project in Lumen5 AI<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now\u2019s a good time to click \u201cPreview\u201d on the top right bar in Lumen5 AI to see what your project looks like. Then, take notes while watching and decide if you want to change your strategy or aesthetic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I preview my video, I don\u2019t like the headline text I\u2019m seeing. It doesn&#8217;t read like headline text and I need something more catchy and to the point. I clicked \u201cStory\u201d on the vertical toolbar, which took me back to my original blog post, where I can figure out how and from where the program is pulling the text.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I scanned my original blog post, I found other text I would rather highlight. I edited the new text directly in the slide.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh5.googleusercontent.com\/f72p1bv5dJpHzXgwa-JM_wyyXPoXIofa0rlKKLjKxglthqcTJAfDIaqr-N-jui-LW31a7SEWjLTHZYHZze_BCK4I7hQG1Ioqs3aaHLSRiawbJxTILKkk6qeCPXEd3i_QoXnIdDnJ4JSVuZsUgt4GhRw\" alt=\"Screenshots of final edits to project in Lumen5 AI\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh3.googleusercontent.com\/iZXF6JL_PzdVtxNGUOVXvz9CvvIPF8pfZhgT-btPWdSUAS6_3exknSzyC1dMiqF-aSJxQiMBI7JgQSSp0y6uYeYEBMjo5CZfCdo13j3eMZkkINUNEpptr2YEhWxjMjtdgHAAikBhxSKqw6vmt6TLBbU\" alt=\"Screenshots of final edits to project in Lumen5 AI\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Go through each slide to edit the text and design until you\u2019re happy with each slide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Quick Tip: If you want to change the order of your slides, click the up and down arrows on the left-hand side of the slides. You can click the delete icon to erase a slide altogether.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-include-a-call-to-action\">Include a Call to Action<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On your Outro\u2014or, the last slide\u2014include a quick overview of the video. Be sure to include your logo, links to your socials, and any other calls to action you want to include.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember when we talked about editing the screen time for each slide? Make sure you give your audience enough time to take in all the information on the Outro. If you want to take your blog content and put it into video format, Lumen5 is a great tool. I\u2019m really happy with how my video came out\u2014I\u2019m a big fan.
