Two of the biggest players in the AI game, Bard and ChatGPT, offer easy access to artificial intelligence. So, which one is better? Join us as we explore ChatGPT vs. Bard! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Writer\u2019s disclaimer: I wrote this with the help of (you guessed it!) ChatGPT and Bard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ChatGPT and Bard are large language models (LLMs)<\/a> that can generate text, translate languages, write creative content, and answer your questions informatively. I used both models for this article to learn their differences and the pros and cons of each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s jump in!<\/p>\n\n\n

ChatGPT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve had the most experience with ChatGPT, given it\u2019s what we use for InteractAI.<\/a> ChatGPT was developed for general conversations. It is trained on a smaller dataset than Bard, and it\u2019s used to generate human-like text responses based on the given prompts<\/a>. This means it may generate less accurate content but can be better at generating creative content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At first, ChatGPT felt confusing to use (and frankly, I\u2019m winging it sometimes). But once I got used to the user interface, it got much easier, and the setting options give me more control over output.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, ChatGPT can sound robotic and needs direction for desired tones to make it sound humanlike. Once you\u2019ve entered a prompt, it will use that information for all proceeding outputs. So, if you want fresh content, you must refresh the page each time. Thankfully, it saves a thirty-day history you can refer to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over time, I\u2019ve found ChatGPT to be finicky, requiring that you play around with the settings and adjust your existing prompts to get a useful output. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unlike ChatGPT, Bard has real-time access to the internet and was developed with a larger dataset of text and code, including science papers, math expressions, and source code. This means it can read websites better and search for formal research studies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve found Bard more user-friendly with no settings tinkering. It\u2019s more conversational and meant to be more engaging. According to Bard, it\u2019s better at following instructions and staying on topic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With Bard\u2019s recent updates<\/a>, you can now ask it to search for images online and even upload them. Like ChatGPT, you can view a history of your Bard activity, but you can also pin it for later or link to for others to see. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because Bard is still \u201cunder development,\u201d I personally don\u2019t use it to help generate content (which is my whole job!). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ChatGPT vs. Bard<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ChatGPT and Bard are both helpful in different areas of content creation. ChatGPT is more useful in sparking inspiration for content but needs more \u201csupervision\u201d or editing. Bard, on the other hand, is great for finding the information I need for the content I\u2019m creating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have questions about ChatGPT\u2019s bias because I used it for the article, and it fed incorrect information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, this could actually be due to what we already know \u2014 ChatGPT does not have access to real-time information as Bard does. And so, its information is less accurate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When thinking about which AI model is better for you, ChatGPT vs. Bard, consider the different strengths and how you would use them in your business. In my case, there is value in both tools for different reasons. I continue to use ChatGPT for content creation and Bard to find information for my content.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
