You take immediate action! As an active bystander, you can’t do nothing, so you have to do something. You take the steps to speak up or step in to keep a situation from escalating or to disrupt a problematic situation. You recognize the signs when someone is in danger and you step in to prevent it. As an active bystander, it is important to take care of yourself after speaking up or stepping in. Don’t forget that you are not responsible for someone else’s actions. Utilize your sisters as they can provide compassion and support.

You are aware of your resources and the support available to you. You display qualities of self-awareness, as you are conscious of your strengths but acknowledge that there are others who can help. You are modeling that you may not have all the answers but it’s okay to ask for guidance, support and help.
