Your key is Emotional
When you have a button pushed you want to let the feelings out. As a kid you likely made sure the world knew how you felt. Avoiding your emotions is particularly toxic or you as they will continue to impact your interactions through passive aggressive behavior, depression, or emotional outbursts.
To help you return to calm, take a moment to identify, acknowledge and express how you’re feeling in an appropriate way. Maybe it’s crying, yelling into a pillow, sharing/processing your feelings with a trusted friend, etc. For them to dissipate, you must let them out.
