2.
COACH
According to your quiz results, your primary giving style is coach. Coaches like to teach skills to people who need help, rather than (or in addition to) doing it for them or offering advice. According to a recent survey on the giving habits of Americans, 33% of respondents identify with this style of giving, making it one of the top rated ways to help people in need.
Here are all the styles of giving:
Experts share knowledge
Coaches teach skills.
Mentors give advice and guidance.
Connectors make introductions.
Extra-milers show up early, stay late, and volunteer for extra work.
Helpers provide hands-on task support and emotional support.
What are your top two giving styles? Challenge yourself to try one you’re less comfortable with the next time someone asks you for help. Play to your strengths but be willing to stretch your giving skills.
At the same time, you don’t have to be all things to all people. When you give in ways that feel comfortable and natural, if becomes less stressful for you and more useful for other people. It frees you up to make contributions where you have the most to offer and gives you license to turn down requests that aren’t in your wheelhouse.
