Congratulations! You are a normal working parent!
Torn between expectations and responsibilities from your home, work and yourself, you may sometimes feel overwhelmed. Your mind skips between fairness problems of who had the toy first to the fairness of the world’s economy. Sleep deprived, or perhaps even dignity deprived, you sometimes get to think how much more/ better/ quicker you could achieve at work if you were not that, hmm , tired. So you developed some very normal coping mechanisms- like forgetting that your evenings before the children were very likely filled with Netflix too, it’s just that your Netflix recommendations have changed… Or like remembering Jamie Olivier did something some time ago for the school lunches, and so paying for them rather than doing the pack lunch yourself. It’s normal not to be perfect, and most likely healthy too (I’m not medically trained!). You know how to enjoy those special moments with your child, and appreciate the good from the working world, whilst both can prove to be challenging at times!
