Creating content is hard BUT - it's not as hard as you think if you have a strategic plan and you start thinking ahead. The first step is to know where you want to go and let your content take you there, instead of the other way around!
Try choosing 5 overall topics that showcase different aspects of your life. For example, they could be cooking, family, travel, your business, and you! Setting (and sticking to) these 5 aspects will not only help to give you some direction, but keep these topics at the top of your mind as you go through your daily activities, and snap a picture as opportunities appear.
In order to grow your business, engagement is key. Remember, facts tell and stories sell but you need people to be drawn into your stories. Engagement is more than just a lot of people liking your photos and leaving generic comments - things like impressions, reach, and click matter too. What good is a "like" if it doesn't help grow your business or make you money? Your captions are one of the first places you should start working on to speak to your audience in an authentic manner. Sure, little sayings or song lyrics are cute and easy, but is that going to make your audience feel connected to you? Probably not. Try telling a story, being vulnerable, or sharing a funny anecdote in your next caption and see how your engagement changes.
Do you have plenty of content, you're good at posting regularly, your captions are on point, but for some reason you still aren't seeing the growth you expect? It may be time to look at refining your brand, and when we say refine your brand we don't mean go get a new logo - YOU are your brand! A brand is more than a logo and color palette - it extends to all customer touch points, including the 'gram. Are your photos cohesive? do they have a consistent vibe, color scheme, editing, and style? If someone were to look at your social media presence, would they immediately know what you are about and what you provide? Branding is a constant evolution that will help you not only stay relevant but stay ahead of the game!
Content planning is HARD but it's not as hard as you think if you have a strategic plan. You have all the content you need - the hardest part is done!
