Water
Water, of course, is incredible in it’s ability to be fluid and changeable. It is both soft and yielding as it sits in a calm lake, or immensely strong and powerful in a tsunami or hurricane. It is reflective and deep, as are people who carry this element strongly. Body types tend to be soft like water on the surface, but they can have strong muscles underneath the layers of softness. The water element is associated with the urinary bladder, and the kidneys/adrenal glands, which affects our energy and longevity. The water element is useful to teach patience, strength through calmness, and quiet introspection. However, excessive water can lead to stagnation of movement, frequent dark thoughts, and fear. The water/kidney element needs to have a least a little fire in it to keep it moving and not allow the water (which also represents our emotions), to stagnate, freeze, or get too lost in the murky depths.
