  I had loving, balanced, and nurturing bounds with my parents and siblings. I felt safe and loved within my family.

  My family unit was dysfunctional on one or more levels (emotionally, physically, or psychologically imbalanced). I didn't feel very loved or safe and had to rely on myself a lot.

How do you generally feel about life?

  I believe that life is made of experiences that I create on my own and I generally like to “take the bull by the horns”-- meaning that I direct the course of my life through my will power.

  I believe that the Universe (however you define it) creates life with me and it's really easy for me to “let go and let God”-- meaning, I surrender easily to what life wants to bring to me.

How have you experienced romantic relationships?

  I have had multiple relationships (or very few) but I'm aware that intimacy is hard for me. I have a really hard time letting my guard down and allowing another person to love me fully and deeply.

  My romantic relationships have been drama-free and very loving and intimate. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't but I have no problem diving fully into intimacy.

When someone really hurts you…

  I close down and have a hard time forgiving and moving-on. It's hard for me to let something go and I feel hurt for a very long time (sometimes even years) afterwards.

  I feel the pain but keep my heart open and forgive easily. We're all doing the best we can.

How aware are you of your emotions?

  I sometimes have a hard time knowing what I'm feeling and may say or do something that is not good for me as a result. Identifying emotions (especially negative ones like anger or resentment or jealousy) and communicating them openly to those around me is a tricky thing.

  I'm very emotionally aware and can spot an emotion right away, before it gets the best of me. My emotions don't control me because I'm very good at knowing what I feel and communicating it to those around me.

How do you generally feel about yourself?

  I really love and honor myself fully. I don't entertain toxic relationships and only keep around me the people that treat me well. In work, I respect myself enough to know when to stop and rest.

  I want to love myself fully...but don't yet. I have a history of toxic relationships (both family and romantic) and have a hard time cutting people off: even when they don't treat me well. In work, I push myself frequently beyond my limits and into exhaustion.

How often do you listen to your intuition?
- A.
  Intuition? What's that? I have a hard time knowing what's intuition (from the heart) and what's in my head. What I usually think of as intuition is just my inner voice of the ego talking to me.
- B.
  I live my life through my heart and listen to my intuition above all else. I know what intuition feels like and sometimes, it tells me things that my mind may not agree with but I go with the heart anyways. It's never failed me.

How do you view yourself in the world?

  Sometimes I feel that life hates me: lots of painful and challenging things happen to me and I can't seem to get a break. I feel like life is unfair to me.

  I see myself as a powerful being: life is benevolent and working with me, not against me. I take full responsibility for my life and the challenges that arise.
