It's Time to Spice your Relationship Up a Little
You've become really relaxed in each other's company. So relaxed that you've begun to take each other for granted. You know, when you expect them to do something without you asking and then when they don't, you're upset.
The relationship has become comfortable like an old well-worn sweater. Feels comfy, but you wouldn't want to wear it to Aunt Mabel's for dinner. These nonchalant experiences are signs you've begun taking this relationship and each other, for granted.
It's not that you meant to, but it's all become rather ho-hum. They're an extension of you and you think you love them, but it's no longer exciting. You may still spend time together but you have a life away from the relationship too. Your friends can be more fun than the relationship with your partner .
When you communicate, it's about things. Other people, kids, family, work, distractions. There isn't much real communication anymore. Remember when you'd share about your hopes and dreams and future plans together; nd talk about the mark you'd leave on the world?
If you haven't arrived already, this relationship is on a course for mediocrity. And nobody wants to live a mediocre life.
A relationship is made up of two independent souls. They each have desires, goals and dreams that can intertwine but are very individual. It's time to revisit the dreams and goals of the past and see if they are still relevant or whether it's time for an upgrade in mindset. To discover new dreams and goals.
There is nothing more attractive and exciting to a partner, than to be in the presence of someone who is confident, excited and purposeful. You were born that way and even though you've developed some patterns that don't serve you, it's simply a matter of developing a map to get back on track. The track to your dreams. Your new dreams that are so much grander than the old ones.
That's the destination, now you just need to find the path.
