Kapha dosha
Kaphas are the caregivers of the three dosha. Kind, warm and supportive, you are the person people turn to for advice. Being heavy and earthy in nature you are well-grounded and have excellent stamina.
When you're in balance you sleep soundly, have beautiful hair and skin and regular digestion. You are calm and thoughtful, able to offer insight to the other, lighter doshas who often need it.
But out of balance you can become too grounded, or stuck. Too much sleep or weight gain is common and complications like asthma, diabetes and depression point to a kapha imbalance.
Call in balance: you want to be looking at all the things that bring in movement. In the body that looks like sharp and pungent foods that will melt all that earthy kapha with their heat. We're looking at you black pepper, cayenne and ginger. Avoid dairy and opt for drier foods rather that soupy stews.
Get some exercise, dry brush the body in the morning to stimulate the lymphatic system, follow a daily routine and stay warm.
