Vata is the creative, energetic powerhouse of the doshas. Change is something you thrive in. Cold and dry in nature they are always willing to dive down the next rabbit hole which can leave you depleted.
When you're in balance your creativity flows, you're enthusiastic and you'll tend to be slim.
Out of balance you can become ungrounded, anxious, underweight and suffer from insomnia.
Get in balance - reduce stress baby! Think all things warm, oily and comforting. Hearty soups and stews, ditch the coffee, give yourself an oil massage, meditate and ensure you're kept cosy. Routine is the best friend of vata but it can be challenging to changeable natures - begin one step at a time and build from there.
'I am grounded in the now and my creativity flows in alignment with my highest Self'
Pitta is the fiery dosha that gets shit done. You are the person people come to for a plan of action. You are hot, light and sharp in nature making you great at analysing situations and seeing through the bullshit.
When you're in balance your digestion is perfect, your skin is flawless and you have plenty of energy to go DO things.
But when you're out of balance that fire can burn the house down. You literally become hot-headed, irritable, judgemental and burnt out.
Bring in balance: to balance pitta you want to be staying away from those spicy foods you love (I know, I'm sorry!). Instead think cooling foods that are bitter and astringent. Make time in that packed schedule for rest, and TAKE IT! Get out in nature as much as possible.
'I am worthy simply by being, my rate of production does not define me'
Kaphas are the caregivers of the three dosha. Kind, warm and supportive, you are the person people turn to for advice. Being heavy and earthy in nature you are well-grounded and have excellent stamina.
When you're in balance you sleep soundly, have beautiful hair and skin and regular digestion. You are calm and thoughtful, able to offer insight to the other, lighter doshas who often need it.
But out of balance you can become too grounded, or stuck. Too much sleep or weight gain is common and complications like asthma, diabetes and depression point to a kapha imbalance.
Call in balance: you want to be looking at all the things that bring in movement. In the body that looks like sharp and pungent foods that will melt all that earthy kapha with their heat. We're looking at you black pepper, cayenne and ginger. Avoid dairy and opt for drier foods rather that soupy stews.
Get some exercise, dry brush the body in the morning to stimulate the lymphatic system, follow a daily routine and stay warm.
'I am open to spontaneous opportunities in line with my highest Self'
