Lent is a season of reflection and preparation for Jesus Christ's death and resurrection. It is meant to assist us in our efforts to gain control of our fleshly desires so that we may become closer to God as we fast and do extra deeds of love.

Because Mary dealt with heartbreak to an extreme extent, she understands our pain and can intercede to ask her son to send his healing power to bind our wounds and restore our hearts.
