Lack Mentality
Lack mentality sees things as finite, like money, time, health, or happiness for example. There is a deep underlying belief that there is not enough to go around. It limits the infinite supply of joy and abundance that is available to us. Essentially a lack mentality cancels out the positive potential of any given outcome through fear-based thinking. Thus perpetuating scarcity in one's life.
This Freedom Block is connected to the root chakra, which has to do with feeling secure, stable, and abundant. When this block is operating, our own lights are dimmed as we give our attention and focus to a lack of what we have in relation to others.
This is one of the most common, and deeply rooted, blocks. It feels downright icky to be stuck in a spiral that you feel you can't get out of. It will typically manifest in the following ways:
feeling jealous, judgemental or resentful towards someone else's wins
fear of taking risks financially, even if you know it is best
a constant need to do more
the tendency to compare & compete
having a glass half-full mentality
problem-oriented (struggle to find solutions)
feeling like there is never enough
An abundant mindset is crucial for longevity & success -- it builds confidence and resilience, it will allow you to see the light through darkness, it will continue to guide & support you even when times feel tough.
To overcome a lack mentality, try the following:
recite this mantra: there is more than enough to go around. I am divinely supported and rewarded.
write a daily gratitude list -- observing the abundance all around you will help you attract more
commit to a daily self-care practice that feels really good. You'll develop deeper self-compassion & respect necessary to shift to an abundant mindset
