Trader
You would've been a fur trader in the Mountain West! Fur traders could be found in many parts of the west. Depending on what was in demand at the time, they would trade beaver pelts, fox pelts, bear furs, etc. at trading posts along many of the national historic trails. They tended to stay in a regional area, depending on what company they were working for, such as the Hudson's Bay Company. Fur traders could've been European or Spanish immigrants, American citizens, Native Americans or someone of mixed descent.
