You go to work because you HAVE TO, not because you WANT to.
It looks like work to you is "just a job" you need to pay the bills. You may find yourself doing just enough to get by and deliver the "expected" results. However, you don't feel committed to your work, role, or organization.
In many cases, employees who fall in this category used to be top performers. However, something changed along the way that resulted in disengagement and, for the most part, suffer in silence, hoping one day something will change.
Unfortunately, staying this way is not healthy, and after a while, your career may come to a halt, and you may even burnout. Not to mention the significant impact on your health due to the high levels of stress and anxiety.
The good news is that you have the power to change this. Gaining awareness of your disengagement is the first step into taking control of your professional life and pivot into one where you can return to a career where you feel empowered, fulfilled and thrive.
As a next step I would encourage you to identify what may be causing your disengagement. Is it your role, your manager, your team, your company's culture, or environment? Or is it something external not even related to the organization you belong to?
As you outline the potential causes behind this unfortunate state, think about the options you have to move out of this situation.
I know it might feel overwhelming, and your inner voice may come up with several "what if's." However, think about all the things you may be loosing from staying where you are. Life is to short to waste time working only for a paycheck vs. living a life that makes you feel happy and fulfilled.
Everyone can have the career they love (and get paid for it), you just need a plan and guidance to make it happen!
If you are interested in learning how you can move closer to the life you want to live I invite you to schedule a FREE Discovery Call, where we can talk more about where you are in your life and what you can do to start heading into the next chapter of your life.
