Moderate Anxiety
Your Teen seems to be handling their anxiety some of the time. All teens experience some amount of anxiety at times. Anxiety is actually a normal reaction to stress and sometimes can be helpful in tense or overwhelming situations. Speaking in public, participating in school sporting events, taking exams, or even going out with new friends can cause feelings of anxiety.
It's when the feeling of anxiety interferes with normal daily living that we should be concerned. It can negatively effect friendships and family relationships. It can even effect their school work or extracurricular activities.
If this is happening then we need to be concerned. We don't want them to get rid of their anxiety but learn to handle and process it. When they don't know how to handle their anxiety then we run into things that can effect their lives permanently. This is why depressing is often associated with anxiety. Too often our teens are taught to that feeling anxiety is bad and then they start to supress that emotion. This causes the opposite to happen and they just feel more and more anxious. As parents we want to help our teenagers as much as we can.
