Asinius
In Perpetua's diary, she mentions that her brother, who was also a Christian, visited her in prison, and encouraged her to ask God for clarification about what her fate would be. In The Diary of Perpetua, Asinius is the name given to Perpetua's brother. He admires his sister's faith, although he struggles with feelings of survivor's guilt, and wonders why God chose Perpetua to suffer martyrdom and not him. But ultimately he accepts the role God has given him as he helps to share Perpetua's story with future generations, including her son.If you're Asinius, you are a great encourager, and love to celebrate the accomplishments of your friends and loved ones. Just because your calling may be different from others does not mean it is any less valuable, or less important. Your worth is not defined by any earthly or spiritual achievements, but simply by your identity as a child of God: "He cares for sparrows: He'll care for you."
