Tiger
Of all the wild cats, the tiger (Panthera tigris) is the largest and possibly the most iconic. These big cats are known for their orange and black stripes and for their affinity for water. Tigers act as apex predators in a variety of habitats across Asia.As recently as 100 years ago, there were as many as 100,000 wild tigers living in Asia. Today, only about 3,900 remain in the wild. Tigers are increasingly threatened by habitat loss and poaching across their entire range. Learn more at panthera.org
