Without connection, your audience will disengage from you and your presentation. Here are two things you can do to connect with your audience: First up: smiling. Do more of this :) You don't have to be a clown with a smile permanently painted on. No, stay natural but focus on smiling more during your presentations.Use their names. When you're asked a question, you can say 'Great question, Ben.' or 'Yes, I agree, Denise'. Simple use of people's names will increase the connection you have with your audience.Slow down. Quick to make decisions. Quick speech. Your audience can miss your key messages when you speak to fast. Or when you don't explain complex concepts in more detail. This is especially true when presenting virtually.Slow down. General rule of thumb: if you think you're at the right pace, you're likely too fast.There you go!
