Your Wellness Wheel is… a little flat!
Friend, you may have trouble believing this, but you’ve got a lot going for you! Your life is full, busy and productive even if you don't feel it... Yet you tend to focus too much on certain aspects of your life and not balance all dimensions. How does this deflated side of the Wellness Wheel limit you? The Wellness Wheel is a visual of the balance we have in all dimensions of our life. Simply put, you can't be off the charts in one or tow areas and expect to experience balance in your life. True balance may be a myth, but well-being is multidimensional, reuiqring us to understand that all aspects of our life are powerfully connected: physical, social, spiritual, intellectual, financial, emotional, and environmental. All components are vitally important and should be intentionally acknowledged. We all have our limits. Going from surviving to THRIVING for the balanced, healthy, happy life you strive for is achievable. Luckily, there’s a clear path forward!“You have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn't worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.” — Louise L. HayReady to Pump Up you Wellness Wheel? Try these 3 strategies...1. Make positivity a daily practice! A little bit of optimism goes a long way, friend. Whether it’s gratitude journaling or meditating, find an activity that lifts you up and do it on the regular.2. Choose a growth mindset. Instead of seeing failure as a dead-end, view it as an opportunity to learn. Your mind if forever expanding. Just because you didn’t do so well at a task doesn’t mean you can’t — with a bit of practice — win big!3. Move your body everyday. Get up from your desk every hour, take a long walk after work or meet a friend for a walk after work. If you are suffering from headaches at your desk, neck strain in the car or just need a place to start, ideas to get your going start HERE Hello, friend! I’m Meghan Griech, PT, DPT ✨I’m a Doctor of Physical Therapy who believes we are meeting people at the wrong time in their joint pain health. We should be proactive with our joitn health and strength, teaching people how to keep themselves strong and mobile before an injury not only after it. I’ve been a physical therapist for over 18 years, treating people who are healing from surgery or traumatic injuries but also overuse injuries. Every day people come into the clinic who have waited for their pain to just go away, hoping it would magically leave as easily as it feels like it suddenly showed up. But our bodies don’t work that way and I have learned people don’t understand why. The chronic pain perpetuates, causing people to feel frustrated and causing further injury to lack of activity. Because when we understand why we hurt we can start to understand if we should stretch, move, strengthening, or rest. Much of the waiting for pain to go away is stressful and frustrating. So, if people have a starting point to heal their joints and connective tissues, they feel in control of their mobility and independence. Now my favorite thing is watching my clients’ lives flourish in unexpected ways. Even if you’re not 100% there for yourself, I’ve got your back.Check out these ah-mazing resources to Pump Up Your Wellness Wheel1.
