Your dosha is predominantly Pitta !
THE PITTA DOSHAThe dosha of fire and water elements! The qualities of Pitta are hot, sharp, oily, light, liquid and mobile. An individual with a Pitta constitution will display physical and mental characteristics that reflect these qualities.Believe it or not, you can see these qualities in you in many ways! You have an average figure/medium build with well defined muscle tone. You most likely have sharp, angular facial features like your jaw line and nose. Like liquid, your weight can be always changing because it is easy for you to gain or lose weight. Your skin is most likely oily and soft, but you can be prone to skin irritation or acne. Like water, you like being on the move! You are always open to new spontaneous adventures. You are willful, strong, determined and courageous! Just like your body, your mind is also sharp! And just like fire you have very fiery qualities about you. You have passion, leadership and confidence! You are highly intelligent, articulate with clear direct speech. You have a sharp memory and can probably remember a conversation you had 10 years ago word for word. ;) You succeed in almost everything you put your mind to! You are a natural leader who performs well under pressure. You are also well organized and a great planner! In balance, Pitta types are creative, alert, confident, joyful, fast learners and funny! You are most likely a very quick learner and have no problem finishing projects that you have started. They find joy in life and radiate this joy to others! Because of Pitta's passionate and sharp nature, they tend to make great business people, lawyers, doctors, professors, scientists, architects and designers! :)However, when imbalanced, Pitta's hot and light qualities can get out of control. Similar to Vata individuals, you may have an overly active mind. When imbalanced, feelings can look like uncontrollable anger, fear, hatred, jealousy, anxiety, obsessive-type behavior and deep-seated emotional issues. While Pitta's are fun to be around while they are balanced, they can be totally over-bearing when they are imbalanced. *Additional note: if you found yourself clicking more than one answer then you know your secondary dosha! For example, if you selected more p's and v's.. your constitution is Pitta-Vata! If you selected more p's and k's your constitution is Pitta-Kapha!*Feeling imbalanced? Here are some tips for Pitta individuals!1) Enjoy meditation and other peaceful practices! When strong emotions like anger or frustration arise, it is ok to feel them, but do not let the emotion take over. Taking long deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth will help calm and relax the body and mind. Enjoy mediating out in nature in the sunlight! Sitting on the grass (or by the ocean) in the sun is a great way to get grounded and calm the mind. You can even add some journaling and some nice calm mediation music. :)2) Incorporate a proper Pitta diet. Because Pitta is hot, sharp and oily in nature, one with a Pitta constitution will benefit from foods, herbs and spices that are have cooling qualities. Fruits like coconut, melons and pomegranates are perfect! Veggies that are beneficial are kale, zucchini, cucumber and squash. A nice coconut water or cucumber water in those summer months! :) Seasonings for Pitta's can be fennel, cardamom, cilantro and saffron. It is best to reduce caffeinated drinks and alcohol. Also, reducing fermented foods, cayenne and other hot spices should be reduced or completely avoided. 3) Enjoy cooling/calming activities! Hotter months can increase those Pitta qualities, so it's best to live in balance and enjoy cooling, fun activities. Swimming, yoga, Tai-chi or walking can really calm the fire within while still enjoying yourself! Make sure you take time to rest everyday and do not over-exert yourself when exercising. If you are interested in daily body massage, coconut oil is great! You can also wear cooling gemstones like moonstone and pearl to balance yourself! :)A little bit about me!Namaste! 🥰 My name is Yolanda, and I'm the seeker and creator of Abhyasa Ayurveda. My own Ayurveda small business! Although, in all honesty, I don't really like to think of it as a business, but more of a service to others! I am a certified Ayurvedic Wellness Educator and am currently continuing my education to become an Ayurvedic Practitioner! Abhyasa is the Sanskrit word for practice. But not just any practice! This word refers to a spiritual practice that one must stay committed to for a long period of time to become a master of one's mind, body & soul. Abhyasa is not just limited to yogic practices, but also involves one's day to day life! This is exactly what Ayurveda is about! Ayurveda is not only a holistic science, but a spiritual practice! And one must stay committed to their practice to achieve a long, joyful, healthy life! And we can achieve this simply by improving our daily habits. 💖I come from a family with many health issues. From cancer to diabetes, to high blood pressure, strokes, drug and alcohol addictions to mental illness. I've seen it all! With no knowledge on how to take control of their health, naturally, I was adopting these same habits as my family! I suffered from constant anxiety attacks, eczema (and other skin issues), intense anger, a seizure and addictions of my own! And my primary care doctors did not heal any of my imbalances. I have also experienced the pharmaceutical side to things. I have been a pharmacy technician for 5 years now and it has really opened my eyes to how western medicine approaches health. Western doctors are trained to treat the symptoms of disease and not the root cause of the disease. Doctors also go months, even years, not seeing their patients and continue to prescribe toxic medications that they may not need anymore. Plus, pharmaceuticals have many serious side effects that can lead to other health issues. To be clear, I am in no way dismissing the importance of western medicine. It does have its place! If someone needs a surgery or immediate emergency care, hospitals and advanced medicine are very important. It is just not a path that aligns with my dharma anymore!I had to take another path! How is Ayurveda different than Western Medicine?Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old science! It literally translates to The Science of Life! It takes a holistic approach to health by preventing disease and promoting healthy habits. And every client is seen as a unique, individual case. No treatment is one size fits all! By living in harmony with nature, Ayurveda aims to balance the mind, body & spirit! All of the elements that we find in the Universe are also found in us! Just like the seasons change, we must also change certain aspects of our lives to live in tune.In addition, Ayurveda does not simply put a bandaid over the symptoms of an imbalance. Ayurveda aims to treat the root cause of the dis-ease and remove it from the body/mind. Holistic treatments include diet and lifestyle changes, herbs, yoga, pranayama (breathing exercises) and traditional ayurvedic treatments (such as abhyanga, basti, shirodara etc.) ! Ayurveda gives you the tools to be your own healer! I am simply a guide to bring you back to your natural state! Interested in booking an Ayurvedic Consultation?
