You may find it hard to relax, which can make you irritable and emotional. Feeling this way causes you to be tense and makes it hard to be flexible when meeting daily challenges. There are certain situations that can cause you to feel very anxious. When you are anxious you may notice physical symptoms—heavy breathing, a pounding heart, or sweatiness in your palms. Practice guided meditation: Meditation triggers your body’s “relaxation response” – the complete opposite of the common stress response of “fight or flight” . It slows your breathing, blood pressure, and pulse—all things that go along with being in a calm state of mind. Guided meditations are fun and easy to follow at the same time.2. Make a Stress management Plan: This might sound fancy but what it actually means is that you go through your daily activities and find out ways to manage your time better, introduce short healthy habits (like breaks or relaxation techniques), identify recurring situations that create stress in your life and devise copping techniques. You can do this by yourself or with the support of a friend.
