HELP! It’s time to slow down and take a deep breath. If you aren’t exhausted adrenaline is getting you through. You are pulling yourself through the day and it’s a slog! Advocating for yourself, making important decisions, managing your time, and keep up the momentum feels HARD. There’s a perception (story) you have about yourself that is preventing you from being powerful in your life. Managing and leading others is not your favorite thing to do right now. “Why can’t people just do their job? Act like a professional? It’s common sense”, are phrases you may find yourself repeating. You don’t see the connection between your behavior and other people’s behavior and this blind spot is hurting you. Self-care has been sacrificed for other things, people or projects. You feel it, and it’s impacting your ability to show up as the leader you truly are. Without a nurturing self-care practice, you will never be able to sustain any progress you make as a leader. Having more awareness of your needs and stress triggers will create a path for you to move forward and get out of the struggle to get by. It’s fine. It’s okay. It’ll get better...right? You’re doing okay as a leader but may find yourself struggling in one or a combination of the following areas: setting boundaries and taking care of yourself, managing yourself or managing and leading others. You know it’s valuable to invest time and energy into yourself and others but something is keeping you from being a powerful leader – a leader who develops themselves and develops other leaders. Leaders who take care of themselves and are actively developing themselves and other leaders feel more flow at work and are more likely to get new opportunities and promotions. It only takes a few adjustments to be operating at your best, which will free up time and energy, which can be reinvested in you, others, and the initiatives that are most important to you.
