Plan your EXIT.SCHEDULE SOME TIME TO CHAT WITH ME TODAYTo anyone who has worked with or lived with a narcissist, they know the destruction and deceit that lies in their wake. Narcissists are masters at fooling people into believing that they are altruistic, kind and thoughtful. They can appear selfless, patient and generous but to those who have a personal relationship with them, they are unable to unconditionally care for their partners or children. To the untrained eye, the covert narcissist parades, and mimics as a thoughtful and decent person. They might seem humble at first but will eventually become condescending and make it clear that they believe that they are better than others. None of their actions are for the good of others- they do not do these for others, this all about self-gain…the next promotion, the larger pay check, the new car or larger house or the recognition and kudos that feeds the what they see others do. What you can do if you are in a relationship with a covert narcissist. The best advice is to leave. It is completely futile to attempt anything else as they will always win. The narcissist does not see that there is a problem and will not be found in a therapist’s office seeking self-improvement. The narcissist is tricky and dangerous. While you may be fearful to leave, they are incapable of changing. The cycle of abuse will continue and your mental health will decline. You can also browse through our insightful series of blogs at www.candidcounselling.com.au
