The classic Danube is calling your name
It’s classic, beautiful and there’s more to it than most people think. We’re talking about the Danube river (though you’re all those things, as well).Folks think they know her, because they think of the waters that flow from Germany, past Vienna and Bratislava, toward Budapest. This stretch is a perfect introduction to Europe, with plenty of depth for return visitors as well.Stroll the cobbled streets of storybook villages, let your jaw drop at stunning abbeys and cathedrals, and soak in the history of long-standing capital cities. And don’t forget to sample the pastries, sausages and beer while you’re at it.But there’s another side of her personality, one that invites you to step over the threshold of the familiar, and explore countries that you haven’t yet ticked off your list. The lower Danube winds down through Serbia, forms much of the border between Romania & Bulgaria, and ends at the Black Sea. You’ll find yourself bathed in a different era of history, which shaped these towns as recently as a few decades ago.The fascinating eastern Danube will fill your mental suitcase with souvenirs that may challenge what you thought you knew of Europe. Now that you know the river, do you know which cruise line would suit you best?I do!!!Where are my manners? Let me introduce myself.Hiya! I’m Pam de Jong. 👋 I’m a travel advisor who helps active-minded travelers discover and book European river cruises, and bike tours.I know that river cruising and bike tours are unfamiliar vacation options for most people. I am here to help you sift through the options and match you up with the perfect vacation.Did I get it right?A quiz is fun and all, but really, the BEST way for me to make sure I've matched you with the right river (and the right cruise line) is to have a chat with you.Carve out a few minutes on my personal calendar, and let's talk. If you think my style would be a good fit for you, we can move forward from there. If you're still in the daydreaming phase, just keep an eye on your inbox, for biweekly tidbits.Or, you can like me on Facebook and Instagram, where I post pretty photos, ideas, and occasional funny stuff.P.S.
