Congratulations! You've been lucky enough to find (or create) a way to monetize doing what you love to do in dentistry and you have been given the space to do it.How does this happen?Employees with this score, typically feel trusted by their boss, they believe their contribution to the mission of their employer is valued and they feel highly compensated for it. Your employer is the type that offers opportunities for professional development and gives raises based both on merit as well as rises in the cost of living over the years.Your boss is one who cares for the health of their people. They offer health insurance as well as other benefits, such as paid CE, paid sick days, paid vacation and flexibility with requests for time off. While this is nothing special outside of dentistry, (most US employers offer these benefits as a matter of routine) jobs like these are rare within our field. :(Does this mean Dental StartUp School is Not for You?Of course not! No matter how awesome a job is, we are selling our time for money as an employee, and our boss is buying our time to build their dream. You have dreams of your own.In fact, we've found that those who feel the pull of the entrepreneurial spirit often have a lot of guilt about it when they have a "good job". Sadly, we've seen people set aside their own ambitions because their boss was nice. We are not required to set ourselves on fire to keep others warm!At the end of the day, YOU are the Boss of Your Business of Life and you have a responsibility to your family - not your boss, no matter how great they are. We only have a finite number of work years to optimize our wealth - jobs can't do that.We must separate our time from our income to create real, life changing wealth. It's not just about the money, either. No job can offer the benefits of ownership. Things like autonomy, creating something that's YOURS, fulfilling YOUR mission, deciding how your time is spent, having personal power and satisfying that voice that keeps urging you to build something. If that sounds like you - you are ready!
Not too bad! You haven't got the worst job in the world and your bills are (mostly) getting paid. Sure, you know you are worth more than they are paying you, you work your a$$ off everyday and your boss has zero leadership skills, but hey, you like the "security" of a steady paycheck! How does this happen? You've probably tried finding a better place to work - changed jobs - but after the glow of your new boss' unkept promises wore off, you found yourself in the same situation you had left. You've likely resolved that this is as good as it gets, I mean, everyone in that private Facebook Group has the same problems at work as you do. It's called work for a reason, right?Besides, you HAVE to work. It's not like you can just quit because it sucks. You have bills to pay! So, you go to work to get a paycheck - just like everyone else in the world. Wealth is for the lucky, the special, and those born into rich families. You suspect that people who say they love what they do are lying or crazy.Anyway, you don't need health insurance - your partners job provides that. And we all know that you are staying for the patients. You LOVE your patients!Does this mean Dental Start Up School is Not for You?Of course not! We're betting that if money were not an issue or the kids weren't so young, or whatever excuse you're currently using is, you'd say YES to more time to do things you love, to working less but making more and to living an authentic life that leaves you feeling fulfilled. Who wouldn't? Wait - maybe you.Working for a paycheck is fine - for factory workers, not health care providers. If it hasn't started already, eventually you'll have anxiety about going to work. However, that anxiety is not a BAD thing - it's your SOUL screaming at you to listen to it and to stop giving Fear so much of your decision-making power.Sadly, what we've found with folks in this score range is: they are a slave to the illusion of "security". They end up locked into mediocrity (or less) because they are fear-based thinkers. They like to know "what's going to happen", as if anyone ever really knows. They may have faith but they feel like it only comes through for other people. That said, your SOUL will only be ignored for so long. There will come a day, maybe that day is now - you DID take this quiz afterall - that you will get sick. Yup. Physical manifestations of ignoring our True North, of living a fear-based life, of not feeling worthy of faith coming through for US, will show up in your body and mind eventually.Chronic pain, depression, anxiety, daily drinking, lack of sex drive, having an affair, over-eating, over-exercising, and so on. We try to satisfy that restlessness and to fill up the feeling of "something's missing".Here's the thing:If you are meant to do something more: you HAVE to do it or you suffer. The middle ground you've been trying to live in cannot last. It's really just a matter of time. The truth is you ARE ready, you're just, ahem, listening to Fear, who is a total liar, BTW.But that's ok! You can bring your Fear with you to Dental Startup School - lots of people do! We know exactly how to deal with that Fool and show you the way to REAL security. We're ready. You're ready. We'll leave the light on for you.
You, my friend, have been Chosen. You may be feeling stressed out, miserable and filled with anxiety. You may be dealing with a boss with the leadership skills of a hungry, over-tired toddler with a fever while simultaneously feeling trapped because or your financial responsibilities. You've probably been feeling this way for a long time and you are near the end of your rope (again). Nevertheless, and listen very closely here, you are One of The Chosen. Read on!How Does This Happen? You've either put up with your current job insanity for far too long or you've jumped from chaotic job to crazy job to nutso job for a while now. You may have even left dentistry for a minute, but you came back, only to discover it was still a $hitshow.Oh, and you have totally tried different versions of your job. Shorter hours, shorter commute, fewer days, longer hours, Fridays off, multiple offices, taking on a leadership role, a specialty office, a corporate job - you've been trying to make it work for you somehow. It always ends the same way though: you working for people that do NOT care or know as much as you do and you engaging in the futility of trying to make things better for them, running yourself ragged and wondering if this is all their really is.For those falling into this score range, we are as certain as the sun will rise in the morning that you have been Assigned a Mission. We know, this sounds all hocus pocus and new age-ish but we've had almost 3 decades and 100's of people to observe this in - and it's just true. The Universe will not allow you to have a job you love. Read that again. The Universe loves you SO MUCH - it will not let you NOT live your purpose. You have been given something Greater to do and The Universe is chomping at the bit to make it happen for you!Does this mean Dental Startup School is Not for You?Of course not! While The Universe IS so ready to hand you everything you need to fufill your Mission, your Purpose, to use your Gift - you probably don't recognize it and you're probably way too afraid to take a leap of faith on your own so you're still a prime candidate. :DWe're 100% sure that there's something that you are REALLY good at. Like, exceptional. Even if you don't have the freedom to do that thing right now, you have been given some kind of gift that has a place in making dentistry a better, kinder, happier version of itself. It could be just that you CARE a lot. It could be artistic, business accumen, a mind for trivia - it doesn't matter. We'll help you uncover it if you're not sure right now. You've been given a gift, assigned a mission, were built for a purpose and The Universe adores you so much It will make you miserable until you surrender. The Universe is ready, we're ready, and so are you!
