The Spontaneous Planner
Spontaneous Planner:You love to think on your feet and enjoy flexibility within planning. While you always prioritize what must get done today, you plan in response to what is happening at the moment. You are great at shifting gears or straying from your original plan when something more urgent comes along. You understand that sometimes life happens and our plans change, so instead of optimizing on efficiency throughout your day or week when it comes to planning, you engineer flexibility within your planning to stay on track. This flexibility gives you the confidence to feel like you are in control of your day, despite what comes your way. Though you are often “spontaneous” with your planning, you are calm in crisis and have the adaptability to make the most of your day. Tip: As a Spontaneous Planner, you plan by looking at what must get done today. You may have a broad idea of where you’re headed long term, but most of your planning lacks a formal process, and you typically don’t plan past next week. It can be easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of activities that come from the flexibility of changing plans, that you don’t want to forget to actually write down what you need to get done that day - especially your appointments and meetings. You should also write down what success looks like for yourself each day. Defining what success looks like at the end of each day might look like this: “I connected with my family”; “I planned out this week’s meals”; or “I completed my big project”. Whatever feels successful, write it down. Good News: The Highest Potential Planner has a daily section that can become your best friend in this type of planning. It has a Daily Schedule where you can write down all of your appointments, meetings, etc. as you focus on what needs to get done today. It also has a Daily Intention box where you are prompted to define what success looks like for the day so you can both maintain your focus and enjoy whatever comes your way. If the idea of planning feels scary and/or restrictive, the Highest Potential Planner gives you just the right amount of structure and freedom as you work to reach your highest potential. You’ll gain momentum on setting and reaching goals as you master this daily intention and daily focus. Check it out below.
