Your #1 Superfood: Greens!
Boost your body's ability to heal inflammation and repair cells with green leafy vegetables and phytoplankton. Phytoplankton is microscopic marine algae and considered one of the most nutrient dense superfoods on the planet. It contains essential fatty acids and the mineral manganese, which help to maintain healthy joints. It contains ionic trace minerals, amino acids and enzymes, all in an easy-to-absorb form.Greens such as kale, chard, spinach, watercress and mustard greens are rich in chlorophyll, fibre and antioxidants. They also contain folate (aka Vitamin B9 or folic acid) which helps the body repair cells and support heart health. They are rich in minerals like magnesium, vitamin K and potassium, all of which support health joint function. Leafy greens can be eaten in salad, sautéed, added to a smoothie, juiced or taken as a powdered supplement. Greens tend to be high vitamin K, which has been shown to help with inflammatory conditions and to help protect the body from bone related concerns like osteoporosis. Here are some ways you can easily add more greens to your diet: 1) Add greens to your favourite smoothie2) Add microgreens/sprouts to your salads and sandwiches. These tiny, leafy plants are packed full of nutrients to help your body heal and stay healthy3) Add a scoop of greens powder to a glass of water and enjoy as part of your breakfast4) Add stir-fried/sauteed or lightly steamed broccoli, collard greens, beet greens or kale to your dinner. They're also great in scrambled eggs for a quick and nutritious breakfast. Ready to say good-bye to aches and pains?1) Add a greens powder to your daily breakfast routine and include a daily intake of microgreens. Add lightly steamed or sautéed green vegetables to your meals at least 3 times per week.2) Add a phytoplankton supplement which is a concentrated source of bioavailable vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids and amino acids. 3) Use essential oils like copaiba, wintergreen, cypress or peppermint to soothe joint and muscle discomfort. These can be diluted with a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil and gently massaged into affected areas.4) Reduce or eliminate your intake of alcohol, caffeine, dairy, sugar and white flour products, all of which can contribute to inflammation. Instead, try drinking kombucha, using a sugar alternative like stevia or coconut sugar, and baking with low-gluten whole grains like spelt or oats. Instead of dairy, look for a milk alternative made from almonds, rice, hemp or macadamia nuts.5) Gently move your body by going for a daily walk and practicing yoga, pilates, tai chi or qi gong.
