Your tech habits...are a bit of a worry!
Friend, you know taking care of yourself should be a top priority, but sometimes it’s a little difficult drumming up the motivation because it feels like you are swimming against the tide...You aren't wrong. Everything out there in the world is pushing you towards your phone, including your friends, family and all the advertising and influencers. It is hard to take a stand. But, you're already on the right track because you are aware of it!Three tips to help you on your path to tech balanced life...1) Decide on one area to improve inYou know the story about how to eat an elephant right...one bite at a time. We are after progress not perfection. If you find that your screen time is down by one hour next week...or that the apps you spent your time in were weighted more heavily in productivity than procrastination, consider it a win!2. Habit stackingThere's this thing in the personal development world called habit stacking. And the idea is that you take something you are already doing - that is already a habit you do automatically, and you add something new to (or take something away from) it.Like if you need to learn the periodic table, do 2 minutes of practice while you are brushing your teeth each morning.Or, if you're making coffee, you do 10 push ups while you are waiting for it to brew (instead of checking your phone)Or, if you are in the bus, get out an actual book.I'm on a roll, but one last one. Or, if you usually check instagram first thing in the morning, check the weather app first.Just little things that are reminders or triggers to try something different3. Decide on some no-tech zonesYour bed, the toilet and the dinner table. Start there and get your whole family on board…It isn't about becoming Amish, but it is about protecting yourself and your mental health so that you can run the race before you, worthy of the potential that you have."Who’s this tech talker with all the tips?"
