The main elements in your dominant Ayurveda dosha (humour) are earth and water. These elements give you a strength that distinguishes you from the other two types!In fact, a Kapha metabolism has the greatest endurance capacity of all the Ayurveda types. When in balance, Kapha can give you the strongest immunity of all.The dominant earth and water elements in Kapha dosha, make you someone who is generally very grounded. You are a rock in the lives of your friends and family, a loyal and reliable presence.Those you care about feel truly nurtured in your company. Earth and water are the elements from which we draw nourishment in life, and the earth and water elements in you make you equally nurturing to be around.You give generously to those you care about, always ready tolend a listening ear or share a hearty meal. Kapha dominance, however, can also make you feel quite heavy and unmotivated sometimes. Watch out for the tendency to just sit back and let events take their own course. You have much to offer the world and once you step out of your comfort zone and into action, you can attain great things!Support Kapha dosha with these three top tips...1) Revitalise your mind and boost your energy!Committing to a little daily cardio exercise (unless of course this is medically contra-indicated for you), is beneficial to all the types, but especially for your Kapha nature. Rebounding is a great low impact option which will move your circulation and stimulate your lymphatics, to leave you feeling lighter and more inspired. Choose a more dynamic form of Yoga, which will build up a sweat. This will help you shed some of those toxins which tend to accumulate due to your slower metabolism, and which can weigh you down.2) Let your food choices befriend Kapha dosha!Reduce feelings of heaviness and congestion in body and mind, by avoiding heavy oily foods, glutenous foods, baked white flour products, and dairy products. It's also best for you to reduce cold or iced foods and drinks. These will put out your digestive fire, making matters worse. Favour a light, mostly plant-based diet as well as spicing your foods liberally to add a little welcome "fire" to kick-start a Kapha metabolism. 3) Keep moving to stay motivated!You will need to constantly antidote the tendency to too much stasis mentally and physically so that you can realise your very real potential. The key is movement! Choose one form of exercise that you can do daily and resolve to make it non-negotiable. Choose something that will get your circulation and heart-rate going. Just ten minutes daily can be enough. Try dry skin brushing before showering in the mornings to stimulate circulation. Practice some warming, rapid, Yoga breathing techniques daily.Watch out for the tendency to withdraw and comfort eat. Eat lightly to support yourself to stay light in body and mind. Your Kapha type can even benefit from skipping breakfast or taking a very light (warm!) breakfast. Why not xperiment with that? See if you feel better when you don't skip breakfast.
