Hey there... Fringeless!
You – bold and beautiful you – are not afraid of your forehead. In fact, you’re so daring as to bare it completely, without the aid of a fringe to hide the expressive expanse of your furrowed brow. Not to be bothered with the fuss and muss of styling your fringe, you’ve let it all grow out past your chin (gasp) and are brazenly tucking it behind your ears. Secretly the inspiration for jealous gazes at the gym, you tuck your hair up into an effortless yoga bun – without a jungle of bobby pins to secure it out of your eyes.Top-knot, side part, middle part, braid, there’s not a single piece of hair short enough to poke you in the eyes and you wouldn’t have it any other way.Just because you don’t have any bangs doesn’t mean I can’t give you some tips on how to keep them bangin’...The front parts of your hair can be the most fragile so if you want your fringe section to stay long and healthy without any pesky breakage, you might want to use a leave-in conditioner like Fray Away, a split end mender and detangler. And all the heavy hair can sometimes drag your face down a bit. Wrap those front sections around a large barrel curling rod to give them some lift and style, but be sure to use a heat protector like Fahrenheit Follicle Fortifier to keep your ends from frying like bacon.“While bangs don’t look good on everybody, confidence does.” – Lauren ConradBangin’ DIY*Bangry (Adj.) A feeling of anger experienced by stylists when clients cut their own bangs. You don’t want to provoke the banger of your hairstylist and favorite fringe friend by showing up to your appointment with hacked-up bangs and a lukewarm coffee. Follow these easy steps to tweak your fringe at home – and maybe even fool your stylist into thinking you had a hair affair! 1. Do it DryWet hair is a completely different creature than dry hair, and it’s never more important to remember that than when you’re trimming your own bangs. What starts as a brow grazing schoolgirl bang can quickly spring up to a micro-fringe in no time, leaving you looking surprised until they grow in again.2. Just a hair at a timeAt home bang maintenance isn’t something that should be rushed, so make sure you have the time to do the job right. Holding your kitchen scissors, cuticle trimmers, or crafting cheers vertically, take small snips up into the fringe to avoid creating harsh horizontal chop marks. Work your way from the center outwards, checking for balance as you go.Remember, you can always cut more, but once you’ve cut too much, only time can fix it. Check out our YouTube video On Bang Trim Dos and Don'ts, and don’t forget to book your next visit to tidy up your no doubt heroic efforts.3. Style with confidenceVery few people have the kind of hair that dries naturally into the perfectly smooth fringe of movie-stardom glory. For the rest of us, it’s up to the right tools and styling products to get the job done right. As soon as you get out of the shower, it’s important to tame your fringe before nature takes over and leaves you with an awkward cowlick in the middle of your forehead.Apply styling products. We recommend Bang Tamer, a great styling mousse designed to plump your fringe and hold it in place all day long.Using a flat brush with strong bristles, blow dry your bangs by brushing them down your forehead and side to side. This will tame any natural curl patterns and ensure that your fringe doesn’t flip out on you.Once your pesky roots are smoothed, create any bounce and bend you desire with a round-brush.For really stubborn bangs, you might need to call in the heat. Use a narrow flat iron to smooth coarser or curlier hair textures, but don’t forget a heat protector! We like Fahrenheit Follicle Fortifier. Spritz with your favorite finishing spray, like Bangarang All-Day Set, and go on about your fabulous day. *Pro Tip*Use a dry shampoo like Morning After to refresh lifeless, greasy bangs in between wash days.Did you say Bang Trim?Oh hey, fringethusiast!
