Root Chakra
The first chakra is the root chakra, or muladhara, located at the base of the spine. Like the root of a tree, this chakra grounds us in the present and deals with foundational needs. You can't build on top of a shaky foundation, so a blocked root chakra can cause unexplained stress, anxiety, and fear of the future. Getting out in nature (bonus points if it's barefoot), journaling on things that make you feel safe, and doing grounding yoga poses like mountain pose can all help this chakra out.
