  I look at the impact cancelling this will have on our results and share this with my executive before cancelling

  I feel lost and like I couldn’t possible do this alone. I talk to others in the business that can help.

  I focus on the request that has obvious repercussions.

  I work on the task that from the executive that’s pushier or that I like more.

  I work on both. I’ll just work through my lunch and finish later to get the job done. I won’t produce the best result, because I’m stretched so thin, but I’ll get it done!
- E.
  I analyse both requests and work on the request that is business critical. If I decide both are and I don’t have capacity to do both, I look to delegate one of the requests and communicate this the requestor.

You were given confidential information by the Executive you support and another Exec asks questions about it, what do you do?

  I would respond honestly. The Executive team know what’s going on anyway.

  I say it’s not my place to discuss this and recommend they have a meeting with my manager to discuss and only disclose what I know was public knowledge.

  I would assume they know about it and answer any questions they had.
- D.
  I would ask more questions to understand why they need this information and explain this is highly confidential and they would need to speak with your manager directly.
- E.
  I would play dumb, pretending I don’t know anything about anything. After all I don’t report to them.

You’ve been asked to attend a meeting to take minutes. How do you approach this task?

  I ask questions to understand what I need to do and what is needed of me or my Executive moving forward.

  I write down whatever I hear, often not understanding what I’m writing.

  I write down tasks and actions. Mostly when someone highlights that it needs to be captured or when its things I understand.
- D.
  I capture the bare minimum, and often sit on the minutes for weeks before I send them out. After all who needs minutes these days?!
- E.
  I ask questions, provide feedback and am an active contributor in the meeting. I am always seeking to understand and when I don’t understand something. I capture high level notes then transcribe the key outcomes and themes after the meeting.

A co-worker starts complaining about another employee, what do I do?

  I don’t have time for that. I walk away from those situations or tell them now’s not a good time.

  I try to help them. Seeing if I can provide advice, guidance, or support.

Go you! You've got a really good handle on everything going on at work the only problem is sometimes you find yourself becoming demanding and feeling like you can’t trust anyone. Perhaps you have developed the mindset of “I’ll just do it myself.” You may find yourself blaming others and feeling angry for not feeling supported. You utilise the hierarchy to get things done. For example, “I’ll only do this if my manager says to” instead of what the business needs to maintain stability. You may also display a territorial behaviour with your manager “protecting” them from their team.
