Especially if you're juggling another job or have family/childcare responsibilities. If so, let me reassure you, there are five simple steps you can take to quickly build a profitable practice 💸 So let me fill you in!"The only way to do great work is to love what you do." - Steve JobsFive Simple Steps to a Profitable Practice1: Get a Clear and confident mindset.
If you have a clear picture you will see the opportunities presented to you. How many clients you would like in a week and how you would like to work with them? How many hours/days would you like to work? How much money would you like to make – as much as possible isn’t specific enough! Just think about the next 12 months. Why is this important to you? Be very specific.
2: Connect with your clients emotionally
A common mistake when starting out is to focus on ourselves and our credentials. We need to focus on the client and their needs. You need to know and understand your ideal client and make a real connection with them. You need to talk their language and understand their needs. When your ideal client is looking at your website they need to feel like you’re talking directly to them. You need to be very specific about who your ideal client is and their condition. You cannot be all things to all people.
3: Provide solutions – programmes and packages, not individual appointments
The initial consultation and follow-up way of working is an outdated method and does not give the best service to your client. On average, a client will see an NT 1.5 times this way. They will not achieve their goals and neither will you for your practice. Most clients realise that it is not a quick fix. Clients love to buy things in packages and enjoy a framework with clear steps and structure. You will build a stronger relationship with your clients during a programme and they will feel more committed and achieve better results.
4: The right marketing plan for you
Clients need to know, like and trust you before they say ‘yes’ to working with you. It is a journey as not everyone is ready to work with you straight away. At Zest we teach you how to develop a ‘sales funnel’ which is a mechanism for you to nurture your relationships and encourage your clients to take the next step. The sales funnel process involves creating awareness through events, blogs or social media then building interest through emails and newsletters. The consideration phase then follows as you provide product information and case studies before the client shows intent to buy and then signs up. We will teach you how to build the right plan to suit you and your potential clients.
5: The importance of community
It is important to surround yourself with those on the same mission as you for support. When launching your practice consider what support you need. It can be tough on your own! There are many ways to build a successful practice so don’t feel pressured into following another successful NT as it may not be right for you. It may be that you need marketing support or mindset and confidence coaching. Do you need access to done-for-you content or maybe a mentor who understands the nutrition profession and can give you the benefit of their experience as well as some accountability.
Above all…
