Your growth mindset is… beginning to bud!
Friend, you may have trouble believing this, but you can go after the life you want and actually get it. A fixed mindset is the belief that intelligence, talent, and other qualities are innate and unchangeable. If you're not good at something, you'll never be good at it. By contrast, a growth mindset means you believe intelligence and talent can be developed with practice and effort.How does this fixed mindset impact you? It usually translates into avoiding challenges in life, giving up easily, and becoming intimidated or threatened by the success of other people. This is in part because a fixed mindset doesn't see intelligence and talent as something you develop—it's believed to be something you "are".Lucky for us, it's possible to shift that fixed mindset into one that's more growth-focused!In the words of Carol Dweck in her bestselling book, Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, “Mindset change is not about picking up a few pointers here and there. It's about seeing things in a new way. When people...change to a growth mindset, they change from a judge-and-be-judged framework to a learn-and-help-learn framework. A little bit of optimism goes a long way, friend. Whether it’s gratitude journaling or meditating, find an activity that lifts you up and do it on the regular.2. Continue to choose a growth mindset every day. Instead of seeing failure as a dead-end, view it as an opportunity to learn. Your mind is forever expanding. Just because you didn’t do so well at a task doesn’t mean you can’t — with a bit of practice — win big!3. Try something new! When you learn something new, the neurons involved in the learning experience grow and form new connections.
