Your primary BARRIER is... Stress Management
It looks like your primary barrier to losing weight is stress management which is a very common cause of weight gain and inability to lose weight. It is human nature to gain weight, that's why for most of us, it's so easy to do and so hard to lose. Stress is the world that we live in. That being said, more and more of the world is turning to more convenient ways to feed themselves. In addition to convenience, some people tend to eat more when they are stressed, a phenomenon that has been familiarly coined as "stress eating". Whether you are eating less nourishing food because of convenience during stressful periods of time or eating larger portions or less nourishing foods to cope with the stress in your life, you can rest assured and don't let this result intimidate you. As I said before, this is a very common phenomenon and there are steps that you can take to overcome this barrier.3 Simple Steps to Overcome Stress Management:1. Acknowledge that Stress is a Part of LifeThis is so much easier said than done. Stress affects everyone. I must agree that it affects everyone differently, but it does still affect everyone. It is something that will always be around whether it is caused by work, home, school, lifestyle changes, goals, finances, medical concerns, or a variety of other things that we have to deal with on a daily basis, stress is not going anywhere. So, the first thing that we can do for ourselves is just accept that stress will always be around. We might as well acknowledge its presence, befriend it, and set boundaries with it.2. Schedule Time for You Each and Every DayAgain, this is easy to say and hard to do. We make time for so many things already and on top of that, we have to schedule time for just ourselves? The answer to that is YES! In today's world, we pack our schedules so tight, it may be hard to find time just to breathe. It is so important that you are literally scheduling dates with yourself daily to ensure that you are nourishing yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually. This can be as simple as a 3 minute breathing exercise, a quiet cup of coffee, a 10 minute reading session, or a 30 minute exercise session. The point is make time for you! It is important if you want to continue to be able to be there for everyone and everything else that is going on in your life.3. Practice. Practice. Practice.Like I said, steps 1 and 2 are not going to be easy and it will take time to figure out what stress relieving practices work for you and when you can easily incorporate them into your day. Start slow, little by little. Rome wasn't built in a day and I know that you are the type of person that wants it all done today!
