Blue (Level 3) - Acrobatic beginner
You have a good base of strength, skill and general body awareness in foundational elements. You have access to ORANGE, RED and BLUE level courses. Blue involving a more rapid pedagogy and selection of more complex movements requiring a higher level of physicality. Even though you can safely participate in RED and BLUE level courses, this does NOT mean that ORANGE level is no longer needed... On the contrary, you have not yet ACQUIRED the curriculum of orange and red level. There are many novel postures and movement patterns you will have never been exposed to that you need to learn to ACQUIRE the levels. Our course suggestions: ORANGE AND RED LEVEL (1-4 months)FOUNDATIONS (I & II) - This course will teach you the 21 FMFs (Fundamental Mouvment Families) that are the building blocks of acrobatic literacy. Typical time frame: 3-6 monthsINTRO and MIXED AERIALS - This course will teach you the foundational building blocks for training mixed aerial circus apparatus (Hoop, silks, rope, trapeze, straps, flying pole)FORCEFLEX - This course conditions the whole body using just your own body-weight and that of others (interactive strength and flexibility) in a playful and intense way. ACROBASICS - Decomposed/Recomposed gymnastics derived flips like Wall Backflip, Dive Roll, Side roll-Flip... The versions chosen are the most accessible. There are a lot of teamwork (spotting) dynamics involved in the pedagogy for safety, efficiency and proper mechanics. OBSTACLES - This course teaches the basics of PARKOUR vaults, ground movements, displacement, jump challenges and often a first initiation to flips involving obstacles. EQUILIBRE - This course teaches mostly handstands and upright balance and takes for granted you have the strength to walk your body backwards into near full inversion against the wall. (if not take Equibasics)BLUE LEVEL (1 to 2 years)CORE ACROBATICS - This course teaches all the basic gymnastics flips including (back, front, side, backhandspring, front handspring, aerial cartwheel). Participants are still working in "spotting dynamics" but at the end of this stage participants should be obtaining autonomy with minimal assistance.ACRO-OBSTACLES - This course teaches flips involving Obstacles (meaning steps, ledges, ramps, barriors, inclines, walls). Mats are used more than mutually assisted movements at this stage and participants should be comfortable "sending" a move safelyEQUI-ACRO - Handstand acrobatics are taught here including press-to-handstand, Roll up, Roll down, twist up, twist down, wheel up... no name a few. This is an intermediate course.
