You are a "Wellness Warrior" worry wart.
According to your responses, your leading worry is health. You are someone who places a high value on physical and mental well-being, but sometimes you get derailed in your health routine. Your worries often revolve around staying healthy, preventing illness, and maintaining a balanced lifestyle all while keeping everything moving, but over the last few years the information coming out has been loud and conflicting."How do I know where to start?", is a familiar thought for you.You hear the health reports of others and think to yourself, "Will that happen to me?"Everything seems to threaten our health and vibrancy, and you just want to do the best for you and your family. We all do!You may be someone who starts and stops your health journey, because nothing seems to work for you.But I have good news for you - You are unique and it's possible the latest fads just won't work for you. And that's ok!You are BEST when you cultivate peace as you are working towards being more healthy. The Lord knows a good plan for you and is poised to help you calm your panic thoughts around health. He is able to provide you with the level of care or fitness coaching you need this season for your health. If we are called to honor the Lord with our body, then surely He can help us do that!"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies." - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20How to move toward peace about your health today1. Write it down - with honestyGrab a journal and write down how you're really feeling about your health in this season. Hold nothing back. The good, the bad, the ugly, the sinful. Lay it out on paper. God already knows and carrying this burden around isn't making your health more vibrant. Write down what makes you feel scared about your health and confess candidly all the ways you wish it were different.2. Write out the oppositeTake a look at all the feelings you wrote down and go visit thesaurus.com and put one of them in the search bar. Scroll down to the "antonym" section. Write down every single word from that box. Do this for every negative emotion you wrote down. Once you're finished, see the next step.3. Write down thoughts that provoke the positive emotionsWhen you look at the antonyms you wrote down, are you able to recall times that you felt this way about your health in the past? What was happening then? What routines did you have? What were you excited about in those days? Write down thoughts you were having when you felt really good about your health.4. Invite the Lord inIt's time to talk to God about what you wrote down. He is right with you in this moment and is poised to help you with a way forward. He promised to draw near to you, as you draw near to Him. Confess how big of a burden this has been. He already KNOWS. Confess how often you've despaired in guilt/fear and how you expect the worst to happen, even though you know all things are possible with God. Ask Him to help you realign with His promises and thank Him in advance for the next steps and nudges He will provide through His word, His Holy Spirit and His people."Do not be anxious about anything (yes, even your health), but in everything by prayer (talking to God) and petition with thanksgiving present your request to God....THEN...The peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your heart and your minds in Christ Jesus." My faith, my marriage, homemaking, motherhood, my businesses, my money. There was nothing I wouldn’t worry about, until one day the Lord reminded me that as a Christian, I am never required to lay down my peace. That revelation changed my life and worry ran in my family until it ran into me. Today, as a certified cognitive behavioral therapy practitioner, I have helped hundreds of Christian women learn to take their thoughts captive so they, too, never have to lay down their peace.
