Proceed with caution: Skills present, passion needed
It sounds like you have the potential skillset, at least to get started, but may lack the genuine interest or motivation for copywriting. You might be someone who...✅Has strong writing skills and/or understands marketing principles✅Possesses valuable healthcare industry knowledge✅May be more interested in the idea of working from home than in copywriting itself✅Could potentially succeed but might risk burnout due to lack of passion for writing *or* someone to write about. One quick way to burnout is by taking on work that leads you to tell others, "I'm good at what I do, but I don't enjoy it."If you don't enjoy writing NOW...Or if you aren't interested in the world of marketing NOW...Or you don't have something you're passionate about marketing/raising awareness for NOW...Then, you likely won't become passionate when you're given multiple assignments to write for other businesses using marketing concepts. You like the idea of working from home, reclaiming your time, and making more money, but copywriting may not be the best avenue for you.One question to ask yourself is this:"What am I good at, and what am I passionate about?"If you're good at writing and passionate about non-profits, maybe you could try volunteering to write something for a non-profit.But if you're realizing that you just don't enjoy writing, figure out what else you can do with something you're passionate about.Looking at other remote jobs like virtual assistants, web design, customer support, online business manager, or even copy editor could be helpful!HOWEVER - if you disagree, and want to learn the basics of copywriting and how to get set up as a freelance copywriter just to help you figure out if this is right for you, you can check out my on-demand course: The Clinician to Copywriter Accelerator.
