Mission Specialist I
You are versatile and knowledgeable. When you are interested in something, it’s not long before you become an expert. It’s also very important to you to collect all the available data and to hear all perspectives before deciding on a path forward. As Mission Specialist I, you set up certain life support systems in the capsule after launch. You are the first one out of the vehicle if the crew needs to egress. If there is an emergency landing on the water, you are responsible for climbing on top of the vehicle and throwing the life raft in the water. Being safety-conscious, mechanically-minded, and physically strong will help you with this task and this role. Both mission specialists monitor and command the spacecraft during the Trans-Lunar Injection burn, which is what sends Orion on a path to the Moon. You must also be extremely flexible in case you need to take over another role as needed. Share your role on the Artemis II mission and your dream team with the hashtag #NASAMoonCrew!
