Busy Brain
Your brain has a lot going on at once. Thoughts, responsibilities, reminders, ideas, and unfinished tasks can all compete for your attention, making it hard to focus on just one thing.Attention is like a flashlight. Your overthinking can happen when your attention flashlight is spread too wide.Try this: Narrow your flashlight. When everything is competing for your attention, don’t ask your brain to hold it all.Get it out of your head. Write down everything your brain is trying to remember—you don’t have to keep carrying it mentally.Pick ONE thing. Ask, “What needs my flashlight right now?”Make the next step tiny. Instead of “clean the kitchen,” try “put the dishes in the dishwasher.” Give your brain one clear target.Expect your flashlight to wander. When you notice it has moved somewhere else, gently bring it back. Redirecting your attention is the training.
