Quiz Outcomes

  • 1.
    Peru
Peru has been seeing record breaking tourism numbers in the last few years, and once you look out over the breathtaking vistas of Machu Picchu, you'll understand why. But don't stop there- the ancient Incas were only one part of Peru's diverse heritage, and there's tons more to explore.
  • 2.
    Germany
From Neuschwanstein Castle to the Black Forest and all of the impossibly charming old medieval towns, Germany is the closest you're going to get to traveling into an actual fairy tale. But this one has beer- lots and lots of beer.
  • 3.
    Egypt
People say rebound like it's a bad thing, but Egypt is definitely making a comeback. Years of bad PR have cost this desert oasis a lot of tourism, but those days are firmly in the past. There's more to Egypt than just pyramids- the treasure trove of antiquities spills out across the country to Luxor and Aswan. Tired of the history lesson? Head for the coast and find world class diving and luxury beach resorts.
  • 4.
    Slovenia
This nature-lover's paradise is one of Europe's most hidden gems, but not for long. Slovenia might just be home to some of the nicest people in the world, and it's easy to see what they're all so cheerful about. There's a whole world full of wonders crammed into their tiny back yard, from thousands of underground caves to vast forests and a charm-filled seaside. Better go check it out before everyone else does.
  • 5.
    Israel
Tourism in Israel is booming, and it's obvious the world has caught on to what devotees of three of the world's major religions have always known- this is a very special place indeed. Be sure and make time for some leisurely floating in the Dead Sea before gearing up to take on the nightlife in Tel Aviv. And above all, prepare to be surprised.
  • 6.
    Turkey
The food alone might be reason enough to visit Turkey. Or the breathtaking Mediterranean beaches. Or the famous museums and archaeological sites. And did we mention the amazing people? Turkey's wonders are as sweet and finely layered as an exquisite piece of baklava- and while we're at it, that's another perfect reason to go. If you just want to eat your way through Istanbul's pastry shops, we wouldn't blame you a bit.
  • 7.
    Ecuador
Tourism in Ecuador is skyrocketing, and not just to the famous Galapagos Islands (but you should definitely go see those, too. Give the tortoises our love.) It seems tourists have figured out that this tiny South American jewel just might have it all- the Amazon, the Andes... and the American dollar. That's right- if you're coming from the US, you won't even have to hit the currency exchange in the airport. Do hit one of the laid back surfer mecca beach towns to work on your tan, though- you'll fall in love with Montanita.
  • 8.
    Ethiopia
Yes, Ethiopia. Forget everything you've heard- this Horn of Africa nation is on the rise, and for very good reason. From the rocky peaks (Ethiopia contains more than half of all the mountains in Africa) to awe-inspiring Blue Nile Falls to groundbreaking archaeological discoveries (this is where Lucy, our 3 million year old common ancestor, was found), this is a country full of surprises.
  • 9.
    Vietnam
Halong Bay. The Golden Bridge of Sun World Ba Na Hills. The Mekong Delta. Hang Son Doong, the cave so massive it has its own weather system. I'm not saying that Vietnam is the most incredibly gorgeous country on the planet, but... maybe it is. It's definitely in the running, in any case. Pack an extra memory card for photos of French colonial gem Hanoi.
