Anahata (Heart Chakra)
The energy of this chakra is derived from pure, unconditional and expansive love, compassion and empathy. The heart chakra is the first of what are considered the more ethereal, higher vibration chakras, the ones that correspond to air or space or to no element at all and reside higher up on the spine. The heart chakra is anatomically located right in your chest, around your physical heart.
Since green is the main color vibration of the heart chakra, you can guess which foods are most important for this chakra! Green foods vibrate with the frequency of nature and cultivate healing. Leafy greens, including spinach, kale, chard, romaine, mustard greens, arugula, mâche, mixed greens, collard greens and others, will help open up the heart chakra. Other beneficial green foods include broccoli, brussels sprouts, chlorella, spirulina, green cabbage, sprouts, bok choy, green peppers, green beans, scallions, zuc- chini, green apples and various herbs.
When you eat in a loving, compassionate, relaxed and open atmosphere, you actually digest your food better. Share your meal with your loved ones, or if you are eating alone, enjoy your food in a non-rushed, peaceful way. Avoid talking about politics or stressful work or family issues while eating. Treat your meals, even when brief, as sacred time.
