You should have a phake phallus in your nightstand!

It’s long, a schlong, a marvelous dong! Who doesn’t love a dildo? Because sometimes you don’t have a frisky fella on hand to fill your needs, or you want to be able to control the rhythm of your passion yourself.

Always the size you want, never too soft to scratch the itch, and close at hand whenever you feel the urge, a dildo is the basic first addition to any tickle trunk.

Great for solo play, when you want to feel fulfilled but also solitary. Also great with a partner, to fill in when someone isn't feeling quite up to the task, or they weren't equipped with their own phallus to start with.

With many types of harness rigging and mounting hardware, the options are endless when you’re shopping for a new rod to bless your nightstand.

There are so many different varieties, from small and discrete, to huge and decorative. Some come with vibrating options - and some even rotate and thrust on demand.

While nothing can really compare to an organic ween, adult toy companies have had a blast figuring out new and fun ways to improve the phony phallus, even going so far as glow-in-the dark and Bluetooth operable.

Not every play session needs to feel like an x-rated episode of star trek, though, so if it's your first time venturing into the world of imitation dongs, you might want to start out with a simple acrylic model - strong enough for the most demanding playmate, and easy to care for for the newbie sex toy owner.

Beginner’s Guide to Dildo Shopping:

Much like Cinderella’s slipper, dildos are not one size fits all. So even though some of them come in a dreamlike glass acrylic form, skip the discomfort of trying to fit the wrong sized tool somewhere it doesn’t belong.

For beginners, we recommend a small-to-average sized toy in a softer material, like our First Timer Dildo in an easily manageable 4 ½” length made of soft and sensual silicone, so you won’t have to struggle to enjoy it.

From there, you can easily graduate to something larger or firmer, like our Glass Gladiator, an 8” girthy beauty made of body safe acrylic to really test your limits.

If you’re sharing your toys with your partner, you might be interested in wearable toys with fun harnesses, or perhaps something double sided, like our Twice the Spice Double Sided Dildo, in a non porous material, like silicone, glass, or metal.

The most important things to remember when playing with dildos for the first time are to get comfy, use plenty of lube, and GO SLOW.

Take time to get used to your new pleasure companion, set the mood, seduce yourself, and have fun!

“Anything’s a dildo if you’re brave enough.”

👼Honey Do… and Honey Don’t👿

Solo play is sacred time, and should be enjoyed whenever possible, but sometimes you want to share your joy with your partner.

When it comes to pleasure play and frisky forays, there are some very good basic rules to keep in mind. After all, you don’t want to reach for your new fave toy and find it unusable, or worse, unsanitary!

Cleaning and Maintenance.

DO clean your toys before and after use with a simple all-purpose toy cleaner like After Care, our scent free, hypoallergenic spray that’s safe for use on toys of all materials.

DO remove any batteries and close the battery compartments tightly before cleaning. Batteries left in toys can erode and leak battery acid over time, so try to keep fresh batteries on hand, or better yet, invest in something rechargeable. Check out our great collection of rechargeable toys.

DO leave your sex toys to air dry thoroughly (laid on kitchen paper is ideal), or dry with a clean towel.

DON'T put your sex toys away before they are totally dry. You want them nicely lubricated when you use them, but save the wet for playtime.

DON'T leave your sex toys on a radiator or next to a heat source to dry. How horrible would it be to return to a melted pile of silicone?

DON'T store your newly cleaned toys together - please read our guide: How to Store Sex Toys or better yet, invest in our Treasure Chest to store your toys safely and hygienically.

DO powder your real-feel toys. Try our Real Feel Toy Preserving Powder to preserve their enjoyable texture and avoid a tacky feeling.

Always remember to touch base with your partner (and yourself) about how you feel about your session and your enjoyment of the toys you used. Great sex should be followed by great aftercare, so grab a snack and some H2O and settle in for some cuddling and a download on how you liked your fun new experience.

Well hello there, adventurous soul! I’m Pepper Saltine, relationship coach, love nurturer, and sex toy ambassador for Pleasure Play my ecommerce shop, on a mission to help everyone achieve better sex and deeper connection.

In my 15 year practice as a relationship coach, I found that many of my patients struggled to spice up their sex lives in a healthy and cooperative way, and I want to put an end to that!

I decided it was time to broach the subject of sex toys in a non-taboo way, to bring our private desires out, and talk about them with our partners in a healthy, accepting, and adventurous way. Too many people still face societal stigma about enjoying good, healthy, grown-up sex, and it’s got to stop!

I want to bring back the joyful discovery we felt when we were younger, and mix it with an appreciation for the toys only an adult’s bank account and sexual appetite can access. Only by embracing our sexuality and opening the doors to experimentation can we confront sex shame head on, and move on to heal our own society induced hang-ups when it comes to all things carnal pleasure.

You should add some buzz to your beehive!

On your own or with a partner, a vibrator makes it so much easier to reach those heavenly highs. Maybe it’s time you found out what all the buzz is about?

But there are so many options, and so many ways you can use them, it can be hard to know what to choose!

Do you want to take your solo play to new levels, with more powerful orgasms and way less effort?

Do you want to enhance the sex you’re already having with your partner

Maybe you want to find and stimulate some shy hotspots that you can’t reach with your current level of flexibility?

From basic bullets to fancy butterflies, vibrating dildos to clit sucking stimulators, the world of electronically assisted orgasms is a smorgasbord of delights.

Some are designed to hit your G-spot, while others can show you exactly where your P-spot is.

And then there are the space age toys that sync with your phone and give your lover complete control of the speed and tempo.

For a naughty bit of joy, you can even wear a sound sensitive vibe and set it to club mode, so you can get the most out of your dancefloor experience with a private dance party of your own.

No matter why or how you use them, vibrators are a ton of fun and are a valuable addition to any tickle trunk.

Beginner’s Guide to Vibes:

Some vibes come with a simple on/off switch, but others can feel more like a DJ’s turntable console, with speeds, patterns, and even rotations to master. But don’t worry, sex toys don’t need to feel like an X-rated episode of Star Trek to rock your holodeck.

Your first vibe could be something incredibly simple, like the Basic Biotch Bullet Vibe, with 3 simple settings to take you from low vibes to heavenly highs. Definitely a must for the first timer.

But if you know that you love to set your bones to shaking, and want to feel a little more fulfilled, you might want to look at the JackRabbit, our take on the ever-popular Rabbit Vibe. With a rotating insertable dildo, and an external clitoris stimulating attachment, you’ll be sure to hit multiple love buttons with Jack in your tickle trunk.

And because sharing is caring, check out this large assortment of vibes designed to be used with your partner, from vibrating cockrings to harnessed dildos that have a secret bullet just for her, your love life will benefit from a bit of buzz in the honey hive.

You should up the kink factor with a little rope, handcuffs, and maybe even a paddle?

Vanilla might be the most popular flavor of ice cream, but Rocky Road has its own fan club, too. ‘Kink’ is more than just black leather and intimidating props. It’s a fun way to explore power dynamics, play with limits, and push the boundaries of trust and surrender. And it can make for some pretty great sex, too.

50 Shades introduced housewives the world over to the joys of fetish and kink, and their husbands rejoiced!

Steamy roleplay can really get the ol’ motor running at high RPMs, but if you want to heat things up even more, it’s time to get creative with props. The naughty cop isn’t the same without handcuffs – and maybe even some silk cording.

Bondage play can be soft, sensual and romantic - as well as kinky and intensely thrilling.

All the world's a stage, and the bedroom is no exception.

Sometimes the best way to set the mood is to use props in your play. That doesn’t mean you need to have a full scale Red Room like Christian Grey to turn the heat factor up to 11.

Blindfolds help to enhance sensation. Without sight we rely on our other senses much more, so smells, sounds, tastes and physical contact are all enhanced.

Blindfolds also build anticipation as we try to interpret what our partner is going to do next. Variation and anticipation will leave your partner totally aroused - and you'll feel like an incredible lover!

Even setting out a few implements to let your lover know that your fun time is going to cover some push and pull power play can be enough to titillate and entice.

Some people really enjoy the surrender that can come with restraints, and find great comfort in letting their lover take complete control during a scene.

Others need to feel completely dominant and in charge, and the rules that come with kink play help them feel secure in a very vulnerable setting.

Whatever your kink is, there’s guaranteed to be a toy to help fulfill your fetish.

Beginner’s Guide to Props and BDSM:

Spanking, bondage, service play, blindfolds, paddles, gags… there are way more than 31 flavors to the kink spectrum.

For those who love to relinquish control, we have the Knotty Knickers Kit, stocked with handcuffs, soft silk rope, a satin blindfold, crotchless panties, and a book of wonderfully knotty suggestions to spice up your power dynamic.

Those who love role play will be thrilled with our Scene Set-ups, themed with your deepest desires in mind. Try the Pirate’s Booty, for swashbuckling wenchery, or 007 ½, for a high-class romp with an edge of danger. There’s a box for every fantasy, and if there isn’t you can contact us for a custom scene kit, tailored to suit your needs.

Bonus: you get to pick a Safe Word to communicate your boundaries with your partner. Try to have fun with it, with words like Meatloaf, because you’d do anything for love, but you won’t do that.

The most important thing to remember during any kinky play is that it should all be safe, sane and consensual.

“Vanilla is fine but Kink is so much better...”

― Annie Edmonds

You should purchase a pleasure plug (for your bum)!

When it comes to sexual pleasure, few areas carry the taboo of anal play. Jokes on the naysayers, though, because anal play is having it’s day, with plugs and prostate stimulators to go with it!

More men and women than ever are exploring anal play, either solo or with their partners.

And why is everyone coming around to the backdoor?

Because the anus is rich in nerve endings, much like the ones you have in your less taboo areas, and those nerve endings respond in oh so delightful ways when stimulated during sex play.

Butt plugs, anal strap-ons, and prostate massagers are just the beginning when it comes to toys for your butt, and the market is only expanding!

Unlike the vanilla dildos we’re all familiar with, anal toys are often smaller and slimmer, and usually have a flared base, for safety. Anything that can disappear up your butt and around the corner is bad news, so make sure your toy has a nice big base, or a ring to pull on for retrieval.

Nobody wants a trip to the emergency room to remove a toy that wants to stay long past the time the party's over.

Beginner’s Guide to Everything Butt:

There are lots of reasons to wear a plug during your sex play, and not just to stretch your bum for something… more. Many enjoy the feeling of fullness it brings, and are often surprised by how powerful their orgasms are when they involve the back door in their recreation.

For ladies wanting to feel completely stuffed with a little DP action, there are wonderful beginner plugs, like the Little Plug Who Could, to help fill the void. Designed to be big enough to stay in place, but not so big it’s uncomfortable, it’s the perfect starter plug for any newly adventurous paramour.

And for the fellas who know there’s a special love button hiding in their rectum, there are prostate massagers like the Pirate’s Booty, curved and designed to nestle snugly up against your ‘P’ spot and really shiver your timbers! There’s even a vibrating model for the truly adventurous buccaneer!

Whatever you do, don’t forget the lube!

“Anal sex is anal sex. It doesn't make any difference whether you're a woman or a man. It is the act itself and not the fact of who's engaging in it.”

- Larry Parham
