Your skin might be sensitive. This could be because it is your skin type, part of your skin type, a condition you are in, or (allergic) reactions, irritated etc. The sensitive skin might make your skin feel warm/hot and therefore feels like it needs cooling!!
Your skin might be sunburned! This can occur even if you applied sunscreen. That is why it is important to keep reapplying sunscreen and still not stay too long in the sun!! Besides it being red, your skin might feel tight after, skin rashes might appear, and it might even hurt when you touch it. Skin will feel very sensitive and in need of cooling to soothen the skin.
Seasons my of course be a reason to for the need of cooling down the skin. This could be happening in several ways.
- Change in seasons: Due to change in seasons, the skin might try and adapt to the change. This will cause the skin to be sensitive while it may normally may not be. The sensitiveness of the skin might lead to the need of cooling down and to soothe it. - Spring season: Because of the warmer weather and even the pollen and other new factors in the air the skin might be reacting to this. - Summer season: Because of the heat, of course skin might feel look it needs cooling!- Fall & Winter season: Because of the drop in temperature and the cold weather, skin can be dehydrated, dry and flaky. Such skin can feel itchy as well and kind of worked up, causing it to feel the need of coolness and soothing.
Your skin might always, all year round, and for as long as you remember feel warm and in the need of cooling. If this is the case, it is good to implement cooling based products in your daily skin care routine besides focusing only on your skin type.Rosacea is an example of a chronic, inflammatory skin condition. It often is mistaken for acne, an allergy, or eczema. Skin might be hyper-reactive, flushed skin (together with a hot feeling too), and some other symptoms too depending on the the degree of rosacea.
If you play sports often or the times that you play a sport, blood will flow more and faster too. You could not only feel hot inside your body but it may also affect the skin of course. And how more often you play sports, how more often you could notice the need of cooliing down the skin.
Of course there might be many other causes of why your skin might feel hot, red and in the need of cooling. Maybe it's even several causes. If it's really severe, please do not hesitate to contact a doctor or dermatologist.
