The Best Google Forms Alternative for Quizzes

Interact Quizzes are the best Google Forms Quiz Alternative: Interact quizzes are designed to maximize engagement and lead generation. The key differentiators of Interact Quizzes over Google Forms Quizzes are:

  1. Direct integrations: With Email marketing and marketing automation software. This saves you money compared to Google Forms Quizzes where you have to pay for Zapier to Integrate your Email Software.
  2. White Labeling: Interact quizzes can be embedded onto your website with your branding, so the experience looks like part of your website.
  3. Human Support and Setup Assistance Based in the U.S. Interact has two full time customer success people based in the United States who help our customers get setup with their quizzes. Often the proper setup of a quiz is the difference between success and failure of the strategy, and our team talks to over 300 customers every month to make sure they are successful.
  4. High Conversion Rates: Interact quizzes convert to leads at an average rate of 40.1% and 65% of people who start an Interact quiz complete the quiz. This is very high, and has been tested over 1 Billion people who have seen an Interact quiz.

Google Forms: Are free to use if you are not integrating with your email marketing software. The are great for collecting feedback and gathering responses from people. Google forms do not offer white labeling. People also say they are more difficult to set up the logic for when being used as quizzes.

An actual customer’s experience switching from Google Forms Quizzes to Interact Quizzes

For comparison purposes, I want to share the story of MamasetFit. MamasteFit offers online and in-person fitness classes for the journey from Pregnancy to Postpartum. MamasteFit came to Interact because they had a Google form set up that was designed to help people find the right course, but it was difficult to set up the logic for the Google Form quiz, it did not integrate directly with their email software (Flodesk), and it was not white labeled.

To start off, let’s look at the visual difference between a Google Forms Quiz and an Interact Quiz. The Interact quiz is designed for the highest engagement rates and conversion rates. So the cover page of the quiz is clear, easy to read, has a prominent call to action button “Take Quiz Button” and is laid out in a way where you can read all the text and see the CTA button on every device.

Interact Quiz versus Google Forms Quiz

The Google Forms Quiz looks like a form. It’s not designed to maximize conversions, and you cannot see all of the information without having to scroll up and down. The Call to Action button is not prominent, it is a small “Next” button that is not high contrast compared to the rest of the quiz.

This is not to say that Google Forms aren’t good, they are great for collecting feedback from people, but when you want a quiz, where you aren’t incentivizing people to answer the quiz, then Interact quizzes are much more visually appealing and inviting for people to begin taking the quiz.

Google Form vs. Interact Quiz Side-By-Side Comparison

Interact quizzes are designed for conversion. Every part of a quiz funnel you create with Interact is designed to move people forward in the most efficient and engaging way possible. The sole purpose of an Interact quiz is to generate leads and increase sales while also providing a great experience for the quiz taker. In service of that goal, every part of an Interact quiz is designed to provide a great experience to the quiz taker and also maximize the number of people who complete the quiz and become leads, and go on to make a purchase.

Interact Quiz Questions versus Google Forms Quiz Questions

Compared to Google Forms Quizzes, Interact quizzes are more engaging and inviting. Interact quizzes encourage people to answer the question and continue on with the quiz, by the way the question is designed. Google Forms Quizzes are meant to collect information, and they are great for that purpose, but when you compare them side-by-side with Interact Quizzes, you can see how the Interact quiz question design is better for increasing conversions on the quiz.

Specifically, the Interact quiz question features larger text that is easier to read, and the answer choices are more button-like, very large and clickable. Versus the Google Forms Quiz that uses radio buttons, which are not as prominent, and the button text is harder to read.

It makes sense, Google Forms are meant to be forms, where you collect as much information in the shortest amount of space possible. Whereas the Interact Quiz is meant to encourage engagement and drive conversions to leads and sales. So they are just different from the start.

Google Forms Quiz Lead Generation Form Versus Interact Quiz Lead Generation Form

When you have lead generation turned on for Interact Quizzes, the lead capture form shows up at the end of the quiz, before the quiz results are shown. We recommend leaving the lead capture form optional, so you only collect leads who are really interested in subscribing to your site.

On average, the Interact Lead Generation form converts 40.1% of people who finish a quiz into leads. While Google Forms does not publish their quiz conversion rates, the Interact Quiz lead generation setup is very intentional, and has been tested extensively across 100 million leads generated to ensure maximum conversion both in the immediate term on the quiz, and in the longer term for converting those leads into sales.

Google Forms Quiz Results Versus Interact Quiz Results

Interact quiz results are once again designed for conversion. The purpose of the results in Interact Quizzes is to give people a quick overview of their result, and then link to the next step of the marketing funnel. The results are laid out with a result title, image, description, and call to action button, all displayed in a clean format where the information is clear. This format encourages people to click on the CTA button, which for MamasteFit goes to the recommended course or courses.

The Google Forms Quiz Result contains all the same information, but it’s just in text with blue links, and there is no image featured. While the information is there, it’s not as quickly digestible, and it’s unclear which link to click on.

Google Forms Quiz Logic versus Interact Quiz Logic

As soon as they reached out, I jumped in to figure out how we could set up the ideal quiz for MamasteFit. I knew it would be a challenge because MamasteFit offers over 30 different courses. So we used Interact’s branching logic feature to set up a map that routes customers to the right course, or bundle of courses, based on their needs. For the quiz taker, they only have to answer a couple of questions, but on the back-end of the quiz there are a bunch of branches. Pictured below is a map of an Interact branching logic quiz (not from MamasteFit, that is proprietary). You can see how each path is unique depending on which options the quiz taker chooses. So the quiz taker only has to answer a couple of questions to get the right recommendation.

Interact Quiz Branching Logic Visual Map

The previous setup in Google Forms was functional, you would get to the right course recommendation. But setting up the logic was not intuitive or visual. You had to create logic jumps from the different answers, and then remember where each logic jump went in the quiz. It was hard to remember, even for me as someone who has been building quizzes for the last 13 years.

In Interact, our logic is visual and simple. We are a dedicated quiz software, built from the beginning to be used for creating quizzes. So our branching logic map is super easy to use and also super powerful. Compared to Google forms it takes less than half the time to set up the logic.

For more simple quizzes, you can use our personality logic, also called outcome logic. Within the Interact quiz builder you just connect the dots between which answers choices for any particular question correlate to each of the outcomes of your quiz. Correlations are like +1’s for those outcomes, and as someone goes through the quiz, they tally up points for the different outcomes. Whichever one they have the most points for when they answer all the questions of your quiz is shown to them as their result.

The visual editor for setting up this logic in Interact is really clean, and we are the only quiz builder with such a simple interface for setting up quiz logic. This feature alone can save you hours when setting up a quiz.

Interact Quiz Integrations versus Google Forms Quiz Integrations

Interact Integrations: Interact Quiz Maker has the most direct integrations of any quiz software on the market. It’s also extremely easy to set up integrations with interact, so you can segment leads based on which quiz result or how they answer questions in your quiz. It is essentially as if Zapier was built in to Interact. So instead of setting up your quiz, then having to go pay for Zapier, with Interact, you can connect directly from our software. Not only is this faster, easier, and more reliable, but it’s also cheaper. Even though other quiz softwares claim to be “Free” they are not free, because they don’t have direct integrations, and you end up paying more to Zapier than you would pay to Interact if you just used Interact. Plus, with Interact’s proprietary conversion system, you get the highest conversion rates (40.1%) and the highest completion rates (65%).

Interact Quiz Software Direct Integrations

Google Forms Quizzes Integrations: Only offers integrations through Zapier. So even if you get to set up your Google form for “Free” once you pay for Zapier to connect the quiz to your email software, you will often pay more than if you had set up the quiz through Interact.

Interact Quiz Pricing versus Google Forms Pricing

Interact Quizzes: The Interact quiz platform offers a simple price of $27 per month if you pay annually or $39 per month if you pay monthly. For this price, you get everything we looked at today, simple logic setup, direct integration to your email software, and up to 1,000 quiz completions per month.

If you want our all-in, white labeled plan, it is $53 per month paying annually and $89 per month paying monthly. This plan includes 10,000 completions per month, detailed drop-off analytics, and concierge onboarding from one of our U.S. Based Quiz Experts.

Google Forms Quizzes: Free for Individual Users, $16.80 per month per user for Business. If you are looking for something that is mainly geared towards gathering feedback, and do not care about conversion rates or the visual appeal of your quiz, then Google Forms is a great option. It’s free for many use cases, and you can collect feedback. But it does not integrate with your email software, so if you are planning to use your quiz for actual lead generation and customer onboarding to make sales, it’s not a good option because you would have to manually import your leads to your email software all the time. The other option would be setting up a Zap to filter and send leads through your email software, but then you are paying $29-$500+ per month for Zapier, and you have a less engaging quiz experience.

When you compare Google Forms Quizzes directly to Interact Quizzes, assuming you want to use both for lead generation and increasing sales, here’s the true cost.

When to use Interact Quizzes versus when to use Google Forms Quizzes

In conclusion, if you want a quiz that converts traffic into leads, is built to be visually engaging, and integrates directly with your marketing automation software for segmentation and follow-up, Interact Quizzes are the best option.

If you want a feedback form that functions as a quiz, and don’t care about conversion rates, integration, or visual appeal, then Google Forms Quizzes are perfect, and free.
