We’re so proud that The Car Mom is using an Interact quiz to recommend the right type of Car to people, and that it’s their top email list growth tool. I had the privilege of Interviewing Kelly, founder of The Car Mom, on the Interact Podcast, and wanted to share what she enlightened us with as far as how the quiz works and why it works.

The quiz is featured on the home page of TheCarMom.com It’s a quiz to help you find your ideal family car, a question that Kelly often helps answer with a personalized consultation. But she doesn’t have time to offer everyone a consultation, and she has to charge for those. So the quiz is an adaptation of that consultation, cut down to about 7 questions using branching logic so people get a great personalized experience.

The quiz uses a pre-start opt-in form from our friends at Flodesk to collect an email address before people start the quiz, once someone opts in, then they are redirected to take the quiz.

When someone completes the quiz, they are recommended one car, then there’s a link to see similar cars. People like this experience because it narrows down the recommendation to just one option at first, which is easier to absorb. Then if it doesn’t quite land, or you want to explore other options, there’s the button you can click to see similar options.

Here’s what the other options page looks like, it’s set up on The Car Mom website. People can go here and browse some more if their initial recommendation didn’t quite land, or if they’re just curious to learn more!
